[history]
March 12, 2003--In a housing project where bitter confrontations with the NYPD can occur daily, grandmother Gladys Taylor thought only one thing as police stormed her apartment looking for Monday's cop-slay suspects: How dare they?
She was referring to the officers who she said busted through her door in the Stapleton Houses and tossed her 17-year-old and 29-year-old sons on the floor-not the fiends who had just executed two cops.

I'm glad these people are coming around. But can you imagine the uproar if it was reported that people in a white neighborhood were quoted as saying that black cops who were killed had "got what they deserved?"
Racism is not acceptable, not even for "minorities."

As long as they were white, they got what they deserved? This is sad. How did we get here? Do they really believe that because they are cops they are just out to get black people?

This article disturbed me on many levels, the callousness is unbelievable.

"But when they heard the cops were black, they're attitude changed totally," They're??

Black conservative pingIf you want on (or off) of my black conservative ping list, please let me know via FREEPmail. (And no, you don't have to be black to be on the list!)
Extra warning: this is a high-volume ping list.

The article Larry Elder was discussing.

It's ok to feel bad about the death of two black cops but it's not ok to feel bad about the death of white cops!
There you go....racism, alive and kicking in black neighborhoods and some thought people couldn't be racist if they are black!

You have to understand the kind of people these are -- just useless @ssholes who rely on the government for every moment of their existence but who b!tch and complain over every perceived "injustice."

It's also worth noting that the race of these cops was not identified for 24 hours or so -- the cops were not identified because they didn't want to jeopardize the undercover work that is being done in their unit. But as soon as I heard that it was a gun "buy & bust" operation I knew it was two black cops involved -- white guys simply don't show up in bad neighborhoods very often to buy guns from young black punks.

I wonder what Miss Grace Watkins rap sheet looks like?

I'm burned out. This is why the walls around the projects will just keep getting higher and higher and people like me will be happy to keep paying for them. I see no reason to pay good people to go in there and get killed. If the inhabitants want to get rid of the perps, they can deliver them to the from gate and we'll haul them off to prison. For each perp turned in, 10 additional random, non-related people who have met the education and social responsibility requirements can take the exit exams.

"I think a lot of people out here weren't worried about[the shootings] because they were white cops," she said. I hate to break the news to you, b!tch, but that attitude works both ways. A black cop in New York City can show up in the precinct station at the end of his shift with the scalps of 70 black perps on his belt, and nobody will care too much about what kind of, uh, "police work" he did to get them.

Douglas Montero is the NYP's token race-baiting Leftist, and he has really outdone himself here. Let's count the many sickening moments in this one.
I think a lot of people out here weren't worried about[the shootings] because they were white cops," .
The striking thing is not the blatant racism, but its open acceptance. The disgraceful idea that black people can't be racist is way, way too acceptable in polite society.
the fact that the officers died trying to protect them from the guns they fear.
I know I shouldn't make fun, but phrasing like this always makes me think of a bunch of Glocks sprouting arms and legs and strutting around threatening to put a cap in somebody's ass.
but more concerned about the army of cops in riot gear who descended upon their homes.
"Their" homes, subsidized by my tax dollars. As far as I'm concerned, the cops--as agents of the government--are representatives of their landlord (us) and have the right to barge in anytime. You want to be secure in your property, then let it be your own damn property.
To: Alberta's Child
What is a white cop going to think when he reads this article?
To: denydenydeny
Maybe for his next article he'll go "undercover" as a resident of the "projects". He is always pulling crap like that.
To: 4.1O dana super trac pak
Absolute concurrence! When it was realized that the officers were black, then there was sympathy expressed. I read an article written in the Slate where they took the debate of a Republican congressman about the move to strike Kosavo and instead put a few Democrat's names in place of the Republicans. The author at the end was trying to show protesting war is not un-American and how hypocritical the right is (it was week, but I am sure he felt it was clever).
Anyway, do the same with this article and change the setting to a Jewish community and when they realized it was a Jewish cop verses a black cop, then they felt remorse, and standby for the riots
To: Alberta's Child
I hate to break the news to you, b!tch, but that attitude works both ways. The way I read the article, Grace Watkins was lamenting that attitude, not condoning it.
