Regarding karaoke CDs: probably similar to regular CDs, but that's just my opinion.

1 penny is too much to put in their pocket. There are other great tunes out there, it might take some work to find the right one, and to practice a new song - but it would be worth it to deprive them of one additional red cent!

The main reason I was wondering about the Karaoke CDs is because the background music only resembles the original (for the most part)...and the demonstration singers aren't the original singers. It seems to me that the writers would get royalties, but not necessarily the performers.

Do the Dixie Chickens write their own songs? I don't want to give them 1 red cent, but I'd really like to perform this song. If it puts money in their pocket I won't do it...I'll find something else to sing.
