[history]
A group of citizens calling itself World Peace Through Action plans to stage a Support the Troops rally in Pleasanton on Monday, timed to coincide with the final deadline for Iraq to disarm or face military consequences.
Burdette expects about 50 people to gather at 6 a.m. outside the Veterans Memorial Center, 301 Main St. They will greet passersby for two hours by waving American flags and banners backing President Bush's get-tough policy toward Iraq.

We are facing a new kind of war so we need a new set of names.
The war of 1945 through 1989 was fought by Cold Warriors, because it was not brimming over with hostilities.
How about Bold Warriors, to describe how years of sliding, appeasement, weakness, deception and concessions ended when bold leaders decided to call a spade a spade. They recognized that we are under attack by non-uniformed foreign armies using unconventional weapons behind our own borders.
Other players:
The Cajolled Warriors those UN member nations whose participation we had to buy to allow us to save their butts.
The Sold Warriors France and Germany who placed their economic interests above the safety and security of American civilians and cities.
The Fold Warriors the Taliban in Afghanistan didnt put up much of a fight considering all of their threats.
The Gold Warriors the Chinese would sell any weapons technology for any price to anybody
The Polled Warriors the American liberals who, having lost their direction, spent the war looking for a constituency who they could lead
The Rolled Warriors those Iraqis who attempted to stand in the way of the advancing Americans

From 580, hit 680 south, then take Bernal Ave exit. From the exit loop, turn right, go past the fairgrounds and go under the railroad overcrossing, then the second left is Main Street. Go past one block and it'll be on the left side.
From 580, you could also take the Santa Rita exit, go right and that eventually turns into Main Street, but you'll hit far more lights.
For anybody else coming north on 680, use these directions...
Take the Sunol Blvd exit, turn right on Sunol Blvd, left at the light at Bernal, and the first right onto Main Street, then go one block and it'll be on the left side.

Hi kelcey. The information regarding
Pleasanton, Monday, March 17, is posted at the top of the thread.

Drango posted this on the San Francisco thread:
Reporting back for the Pleasanton Rally. clamper1797 and I were in attendance from FR. There were 30-35 Americans and 5 scum on the opposite corner. At one time a mother, impromptu and in business work clothes, stopped to thank us. With voice high with emotion, she said her son was "over there" now. He doesn't tell anyone he's from California. He's ashamed 'cause all the troops see is the anti-war contingent on TV and in the press.
This brought the press and cameras from channels 2 & 5 over to her. With passion, she ripped into the press for being willing allies and enablers of the anti-war mob. She asserted with great conviction, that only telling part of the story was hurting the moral of our troops. With that she had to leave for work.
Wow...I for one got a little teary eye as I witnessed a MOM standing up for her country and son like I've never seen it before! God bless her and her son.
God bless all the troops!
