Officials: United States talking surrender with Iraqi Military Personnel

Surrender Talks

United States officials said Wednesday that surrender negotiations have secretly begun with key Iraqi military officials in hopes that some military units will not fight United States and coalition forces if there is war.

The Pentagon is not handling these communications, officials said, but instead other elements of the United State government are handling them.

One senior official has said that some parts of the Iraqi military already may have agreed not to fight.

Perhaps we shouldn't be so hard on the French. They seem to have slipped a surrender virus into Iraq along with their military help.

Today Rush indicated that he sometimes thinks that was Bush's strategy all along. However, due to the lack of support at home and abroad (and Americans speaking out abroad) it may have simply prevented Sadaam from folding early like he would likely (hopefully) have done had he seen the world united against him...

Yup. this is a war caused by the peace movement. There's still a chance it will end quickly and with minimal violence -- no thanks to the Saddamites.

Don't forget, there are 3000 special forces on the gorund in Iraq. They could be accomplishiong all kinds of objectives. Between that and leaflets, and we could limit the "War on Iraq" to nothing but a War for Baghdad.

In fact, who's to say that those holes cut in the fence in Southern Iraq are not being used to transport Iraqi soldiers out of harms way?

If Saddam gives an order to attack and there's no soldiers left to hear it, does it make any noise.

Look on the bright side here. we announce tere are major defections, and then Saddam has to be thinking someone wont fight... what will he do, start shooting generals? how will that make out job any harder? how does he know which are the real loyalists? hmmmm.

Even if false, it is a good psyops strategy to weaken the enemy.

But I dont think our guys would say it unless it was true.
