I've noticed Japanese newspapers tend to give their readers alot more credit for intelligence than our's do.

I've noticed Japanese newspapers tend to give their readers alot more credit for intelligence than our's do.

Being the sailor that I am, I've noticed Japanese newspapers always mention a ship's tonnage. To most Americans, that doesn't mean squat. Does it mean anything to most Japanese? I don't know.
