[history]
Actor Don Johnson is caught up in a money-laundering probe by German authorities, who say they found the "Miami Vice" star in a car with a suitcase stuffed with $8 billion worth of share certificates, bonds and credit notes when he crossed the Swiss border, it was revealed yesterday.

And the supposedly illegal act here is what? It is now illegal to move financial records and documents from Switzerland to Germany? It says one of the people was an investment advisor. Sounds like the records of a hedge fund or something (not one person's wealth).

I remember once, about ten years ago, I was in Miami Beach listening to a pair of DJs on a morning talk show when Don Johnson called in for an interview. He was so drunk -- or out of it -- that he was hardly coherent, and it wasn't long before the DJs started making fun of him and taunting him about Melanie Griffith during the inteview. He was so pathetic, it was almost painful to listen to.

That's what I was wondering. I'm not aware of any law that was broken by this act.

Well it appears that Don was the bagman in a very large money laundering plan.
Who in the hell has 8 billion to put in a suitcase for money laundering?
Big time Drug People or the Opecker Islamofacists who finance Islamokazi comes mind first.

There is that little law about not reporting cash or securities when travelling. I think the amount is anything over $10,000. If this were a legit transaction, the insurer has requirements about courriers and such. I don't think Don Johnson falls into those regulations. If that stuff were stolen, the insurer would deny the claim.
If it were gang, mafia money it would have been escourted by some muscle and firepower.
This money was being smuggled by Hollywood types so they would not have to pay taxes. Don was just the bagman.
BTW, the reason for driving the car is that flying chartered jets leaves a transaction trail via the air traffic system. Those movements are on record forever. A sunday drive thru the alps is not.

I would suspect this is not Don Johnson, but Crockett's Miami Vice undercover alter ego Sonny Burdett.

"A Boy and His Dog"? One of those anti-fantasy flicks. Ever dream of being the only man in a city of women? Check it out.

Saw it in the theater years ago. As a teenager I was horrified by the wedding scene.

That's from the beginning of the show. Love Jan Hammer. I saw him once when he warmed up for Bobby Weir in a tiny place in Hempstead LI called the Calderone (gone now). He ROCKED.
I love when he plays that strap-on keyboard.
