Mitzna: No way to protect lives of Hebron residents
By THE JERUSALEM POST INTERNET STAFF

Labor Party Chairman Amram Mitzna said Monday that there is no way to defend the lives of the residents and soldiers in Hebron.

According to Mitzna, the public has to know that there are no real, professional or military ways to protect the population of Hebron and the soldiers that are in the divided West Bank town to protect them

Mitzna's comments come a day after a soldier was killed in Hebron and the Friday night attack that killed a couple in the neighboring settlement of Kiryat Arba.

The opposition leader, speaking on Israel radio said that to lead the public to believe that it was possible to sit amidst a hostile population and act as if all was normal was irresponsible.

I hate to say this, but Mitzna has this right. OTOH, Israel cannot withdraw in the face of terrorism or they will face even more terrorism. Nor can they allow the 1929 massacre to be rewarded without even an acknowledgement of the wrong that was done. Nor can they abandon a place as holy as the Machpela Cave (Tomb of the Patriarchs).

Like so much in this conflict it's a Catch-22, a lose-lose situation for Israel.

Another example of a lefty selling out his own people. How dare he say that they can't be defended. The terrorists attack when they feel an area is vulnerable. There will be new attacks in Hebron, inspired by this tripe.

The answer is simple: If Israel cannot protect her citizens from the Palestinians in Hebron, then remove the Palesinians to their homeland, Jordan. (I refer specifically to the Palestinians, and not to those Arabs who are loyal to Israel, like the Bedouins and the Druze.)
