Sorry minion, I framed the debate as the obstruction of the democrats which is unprecedented. The filibuster takes that obstruction further down the road of unprecedented, but the obstruction (which started in the 107th congress - democrat controlled senate) includes locking the nominees up committee rather than letting them be debated and voted by the full senate. Thanks for your perspective though.
