Paris:- Monday, 10. March 2003:- "Nobody can predict in advance the results of a war. They are seldom positive." So said Président Jacques Chirac on TV this evening, when being questioned by journalists from the two main national TV networks here.
He confirmed his intention to go to New York on Tuesday or Wednesday, to attend a session of the Security Council - saying when it comes to a question of war, the highest political leaders are in the ultimate position of responsibility. Only they are capable of making the most crucial decisions.

It would be so unfortunate if his American visa were somehow revoked.

Protest? Uh, yeah, THAT'S what my first thought was! Yeah!

"Nobody can predict in advance the results of a war. They are seldom positive." Insert French joke punchline here.

First Schroeder and now Chirac. Good. Let's hope they stop by Ground Zero and remember what this whole dang thing is about!
And it wouldn't be grand if they went out to dinner and the sommelier (sp?) said, "I'm sorry, sir but we don't sell any French wine in this restaurant. Not any German beer either."

He confirmed his intention to go to New York on Tuesday or Wednesday I sincerely hope that he will be denied access into the country! I mean! The man is traitorous to international stability and should not be entertained. (He may like to soiree with the likes of Mugabwe, but the rest of the civilised world pick better company!)

These people are really *issing me off!!! US and Britain postpone vote on war as UN crisis deepens
Conor O'Clery, North America Editor, in New York
With the US facing defeat, he said that the Russian decision to vote against would be "from a moral point of view, more than a disappointment". Mr Ivanov said earlier in Moscow: "If the draft resolution . . . which includes unattainable ultimatums and demands, is in the end put to a vote, then Russia will use its vote against the resolution." The Russian Foreign Minister also warned that Washington's efforts to change the Iraqi regime and impose a US-based system of democracy were "doomed to failure".
The US ambassador to the UN, Mr John Negroponte, said last night: "We're still working to try to forge the necessary support for the draft resolution."

This is total BS. He just wants to be a SAFE place where he knows he'll be protected when the war starts. I say, lose his passport, or better yet, let him come, and we'll pay muggers to constantly accost him.

He should be allowed only in the UN compound, nowhere else in New York.
French citizens should be required to have visas to enter the US -- obtainable in person only at the US Embassy in Paris and personally signed by the Ambassador - no flunkys. Of course, the fact that the Ambassador has been called home for consultations is unfortunate, but the French will just have to wait.

"Nobody can predict in advance the results of a war. They are seldom positive." I'm positive I can predict in advance the results of france being in a war. So he's going to priss his tight a** into the security council and assert his power as a world leader? HAH, I fa*t in your general direction, sir. I hope this arrogant POS is put in his place.

Blix denies cover-up after second unreported find
From James Bone in New York and Roland Watson in Washington
THE chief United Nations weapons inspector denied yesterday that he was covering up finds in Iraq, even as it emerged that a second discovery had gone unreported to the UN Security Council.
The same declassified UN report that revealed that inspectors had found an undeclared 7.45-metre drone also contained new information about the discovery in December of modified aircraft fuel tanks capable of spraying germ or chemical agents.

I would like to see GWB confront Chirac in a televised debate to the nation. He would make mince meat out of the Worm. He he he!!
Or, at the very least Bush should show up at the UN unexpected and nullify the Worm's attendance by his mere presence. That ought to be a hoot.
Let's go Dubya!!
