Llewelyn Rockwell, the leading intellectual influence of the paleo-libertarian right........

Llewelyn Rockwell, the leading intellectual influence of the paleo-libertarian right, was interviewed last night by Bill Moyers on PBS, and if any doubts had remained about the character of Rockwell and movement he leads, they were settled by this program. Asked his principles of when war is justified, he gave as an example of an unjustifiable war the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan, which he said was carried out for no other reason than to strike out at somebody, anybody. Asked if he thought Saddam Hussein was evil, Rockwell said, of course he’s evil, he’s a politician. Asked if he feared nuclear weapons in the hands of Hussein, Rockwell pertly replied that he also feared nuclear weapons in the hands of George W. Bush. Asked what he would advise President Bush to do about Iraq, Rockwell answered: “Read a book.”

Lew Rockwell calls himself a libertarian, while at the same time venerating the Confederacy, which, contrary to the lies in all those history books written by treason-loving Democrats, was run in an extremely socialist manner -- with price controls, production directives, government-owned industries, internal passports, rationing, and a political system much more centralized than was the Union government at the time.

For the truth, see http://www.republicanbasics.com/ to read about "Back to Basics for the Republican Party".

Llewelyn Rockwell, the leading intellectual influence of the paleo-libertarian right...

I say he is a Leftist, as are a great deal of the conspiracy crowd. I also tend to think the greater majority of the conspiracy stuff is Leftist subterfuge and this opposition to the war on terrorism (supposedly from the right) is exposing this.

Putting a microphone within easy reach of Lew(py) Rockwell is like putting a gallon of Blue Bell fudge ripple and an entrenching tool in the hands of Rosie O'Donnell. Either way, its not going to be pretty.

Are you saying that Rockwell is a leftist agent masquerading as a libertarian to make them look bad or are you saying championing limited government is leftist bilge?

There are documented cases of soviet agents infiltrating rightest movements in order to act outrageously and discredit those movement. A recent case was in Germany where a rightist movement was going to be outlawed because of statements by their leadership till it was discovered these leaders were agents of the left wing government. I seriously doubt that Rockwell falls into this catagory.

There is a very big difference between supporting the notion of state's sovereignty and supporting unlibertarian actions by those states. Either you are honestly mistaken about this issue or willfully misrepresenting it and I am sure that the latter could not be the case as all freepers are of course honorable upright citizens.

cordially,

If the legislature of your state voted to secede, would you shoot U.S. soldiers who tried to prevent it?

That aside, the Conderacy was actually run very socialistically, like the EU is today -- hardly the free market, limited government wonderland portrayed by Democrat history professors.

An excellent question, deserving of its own thread.

"What actions would you be willing to take if your state attempted to secede from the union in the year 2003?"

Lew Rockwell is the ultimate Cheese Eating Surrender Monkey. Chomsky and Clark are about the only two people who are to the left of him. He typifies the Losertarian mentality - which is nothing more than the human embodiment of entropy.

I fully support smaller, less intrusive, and fiscally responsible government as well as a return to using the Constitution as the basis for all that the government is allowed to do. The first order of business for the government under the Constitution is defense of the nation. That is the first area where the Losertarians drop the ball (and would raise the white flag). It's hard to become a leading party when you would unilaterally disarm our national defense and rely upon the citizen's weapons to defend the country from organized foreign armies. It's utter idiocy, and Lew is the penultimate idiot.

Yes, that cuts through all the smoke blown by treason-sympathizing, USA-hating neo-Confederates. They claim to be patriots while venerating Democrat rebels of the 1860s who killed 400,000 U.S. troops.
