On the contrary, my friend. In fact, the Koran--and in similar fashion--the Bible like most written texts are read subjectively. Each reader extracts different meanings from the same text given their specific point of view. The common mistake of taking verses out of context is often the root of the problem.

Having read the Koran myself, I am of the opinion that to Muhammad, Jews and Christians were peoples with whom you could align yourself if it was in your own best interest and so long as they honored treaties. Otherwise, it is clear that the "idolators" were to be persecuted and/or put to death.

The Koran specifically states, "Be courteous when you argue with the People of the Book, except those among them who do evil...We believe in that which is revealed to us and which is revealed to you. Our God and your God is one. To Him we surrender ourselves."

The issue currently at hand is the modern interpretation of the Koran. Peaceful traditional muslims acknowledge Muhammad. The fudamentalists (offshoots of the Wahabbi sect from Saudi Arabia) do not acknowledge Muhammad because they support monotheism, or simply, prayer only to Allah.

The root of the fundamentalist islamic terror is based in the Wahabbi madrassas throughout the world. Their philosophies, which are taught on every continent in nearly every country (including the US) do not allow for alternative religious sentiment or polytheism. In fact, they have even taken the notion of jihad, or one's personal struggle with their faith, to be a Muslim war against the infadels to spread Wahhabism.

Muslims in general aren't the problem, the Wahabbis from Saudi Arabia are the real threat. If we want to point fingers, I suggest directing our vitriol towards Riyadh and not the peaceful muslims out there.

I read 3 different translations of the Qu'ran. I don't see any of your perspective.

Find in Scripture anywhere that killing "infidels" is prescribed. And I'm not talking about the Old Testament nation of Israel, which was a theocracy directly ruled by the LORD. He ordered pre-emptive strikes against other nations because of the threat to His beloved people.

But what didactic (teaching) passage of Scripture could even be partly twisted to invoke war against flesh and blood?

Christians who live according to the Word of God are the evil ones according to the Koran. Any Christian who would claim Jesus Christ as both Lord and God are "blasphemers" in their sight. Islam is not a religion of peace, as some claim, but submission -- voluntary submission first, forced submission second.
