***Tears Of The Sun***

Go Bruce.......

I went to this film to support the fine American conservative Bush supporter, and I'm reporting in, Sir...

While not what I expected, more of a jungle environment rescue, with a neat twist, the realism of what Special Ops do and go through was just like you watched tonight on CNN Presents....

It was a satisfying flick, even though it wasn't what I expected, and in one scene I was wondering why they were doing what they did, but it all worked out.....

The great thing about Bruce's films are that you can count on one thing for sure:

"....I'm the hero Arthur, I always mean what I say..."*

Mr. Willis always remembers that in today's world, we need our heros to mean what they say......Bruce Willis' heros are men who rise to the occasion, like Davy Crockett and GWB....they don't go looking for trouble, but they don't run, either

Go see it and support a good man who supports our men in uniform, and their Commander In Chief

Was it really gorey? I know my hubby wants to see this, but sometimes war flicks get to be too much for me.

It's pretty rough. Lots of blood, action, pyrotechnics.... great action, nice story. Meant to be seen on the big screen.

In some ways it's an anti war movie in the sense you see what war is, and in another sense, it made me realize what horrible things we are going to find in Baghdad

I just got back...very, very heavy movie. Definately not a shoot-em-up action movie. The plot is (like reality in several African countries) Islamofacist rebel thugs gain power and are murdering Christians. Willis & co. are Seals sent to retrieve an American doctor from a missionary hosipital. She complicates matters when she refuses to come without rescuing the people there as well.

It opens up your eyes to the horrors that have been going on in Africa in the 90's, and the hell on earth that people are going through over there due to murderous Islam. GWFan, I would probably not recommend you see this movie, it is not so much fake gory as it is real scenes of what the liberals euphamistically call "ethnic cleansing.", i.e. genocide. Its not so much gory as it is very, very disturbing. It makes you think.

I absolutely agree.....it makes you wonder what we are going to find in Iraq......

a very disturbing film......disturbing that these events could even happen, more disturbing because they do

My son and I went to see this Flick on Friday. It was an interesting commentary of the "Religious" and "Ethnic" wars that have raged in Africa for many years. I good movie with a lot of thought. I believe it is probaldly Bruce's best Movie. My son wants to be a SEAL, so his brother a Naval Officer can take his team to different areas that need help, Thank God he is only 15.

Thanks, I am pretty sensitive and probably couldn't handle it. I could not stop crying during 'Saving Private Ryan'. It was too real for me.

She complicates matters when she refuses to come without rescuing the people there as well.

Now if Willis left after saying, "Suit yourself, Doctor"--then maybe I'd see the movie.

Was there even a good reason to rescue even just her to begin with?

Next, they'll make a movie about rescuing human-shield traitors from their folly.

a real salute to our military and old-fashioned concepts like honor and doing the right thing.

a horrifying glimpse into the suffering of Africans and how little we have done overall.

I watched this movie about a week ago. A couple of times I had to pick up my book and read just to divert my eyes from the gore. There was too much hugging and vacillating on the part of the rescuees which put the rescuers in danger. Willis' character was far more polite that I would have been.

Just as much as Milosevic or Saddam.
Which evil dictator is worth going after and which do we ignore?

I suspect the poster is referring to intervention... as in how much the United States has ignored this problem. Great Britain and other European nations are roundly shut out because they're colonial nations. US is not and has a bit more leeway. We pick and choose our battles according to politics... Grenada, Vietnam, Iraq, etc.
