Later on, you peeked into his room and saw him playing with matches again, but you decided to avoid an unpleasant confrontation. Instead, you asked if he had any matches, and when he said "no", you pretended you believed him.

There was a child psychologist who used to be on television decades ago. Hiam Ginat. The only reason I remember his name, (if not the correct spelling), is because he made such good sense. He said, "Never ask a child a question when you already know the answer. All it does is invite the child to lie." (Exs: "Did you eat that cookie?" or "Didn't you hear me call you?" )
The German, French, Russian, and UN pretense, that Iraq is cooperating with inspectors, is playing with fire. They don't giveashit, it's not their house that's in danger. But when Americans, Democrats, play along with this pretense, it's either insanity or treason.
