Two Twin Cities couples with conflicting opinions on a war with Iraq came away with sharply different impressions after watching President Bush's news conference Thursday night.
"One hundred years from now, I truly believe he will be ranked as one of top 10 presidents of all time," said Joe Repya, 56, of Eagan, a retired lieutenant colonel. He has created thousands of "Liberate Iraq" signs and distributed them throughout Minnesota.

Anybody who's been that stuipd for that long....
Makes ya' wonder about ol' Slim eh?
The truth? I can't hear you! (fingers in ears) la-la-la-la-la! Still can't hear you! la-la-la-la-la!
Math for idiots.
Joe Repya, 56, of Eagan, a retired lieutenant colonel. He has created thousands of "Liberate Iraq" signs and distributed them throughout Minnesota.
Meanwhile, in south Minneapolis, Carol Masters, 62, and her husband, Ken, 79, who are veterans of many antiwar demonstrations...have a "No War with Iraq" sign ...Carol, a church secretary, said she's "peddled" more than 50 signs to parishioners.
Great divide
The Repyas: Their children answered 'yes Mom/ma'am, yes Sir' when their parents spoke to them. They cleaned their rooms knowing if they didn't, Dad really would paddle them. They behaved in public and ate quietly in restraunts, knowing there would be consequences at home if they didnt. They were always courteous to their teachers, again knowing there would be consequences at home if they didn't. In schoolyard scuffles, the Repya children stood up for themselves and faced school punishment for doing it- this gained the respect of their peers. They have grown into confident, independent, hardworking adults.
The Masters: Their children answered "No! or Yeah, whatever" to their parents and never cleaned their room without negotiating down the standard of 'clean'. Their children ran around screaming in public places, making demands, deals and pitching temper tantrums. In schoolyard scuffles, the Masters children were the bullies. Punishments were protested by the parents and negotiated down- generating resentment among their peers. They made trouble for the teachers, making sure blame for failure was handed out to everyone but the Masters family. Their children grew up into adults who think the government should attend their every need- including cleaning their room and paying their bills.
The more airtime these stupid protesters get, the more France and Germany whine, the more I'm convinced that foreign policy is no different than parenting. Spoiled, undisciplined brats should not be in charge of geopolitics.
I'm guessing a REMF...
We're not so much talking to each other but yelling at eachother across a chasm.
Here's Couple A who think Clinton is the best president ever, and here's Couple B who think Clinton is a lying scumbag who is a disgrace to the country. I think it's genetic. I think nature is rigged so that there are always about 50% of the people on each side of this divide. It's a trick to make us fight constantly over small variations around a mean. |
Impressive! I bet they are so brave that they sometimes do this without sun block!
George W. Bush is stupid and evil and a liar and a hypocrite and on medication and unelected! And he's dumb, too! Wanhhh! Wanhhh! WANHHH! ;-)
Truth has built a bridge the liberals refuse to cross...seems it was built from non-recycled material and some endangered squirrels lost their homes during construction.
(that was a typo--but I think I like it! Gets right to my point) LOL!
