Battle Of France 1940, French military fatalities: 120,000
Korea and Vietnam, American military fatalities: 110,000
Tales of French cowardice, priceless.

Courtesy, The American Conservative.

Fireworks ban in France

France announced today that it plans to ban fireworks at Euro Disney, following last night's display that caused soldiers at a nearby French army garrison to surrender.

Brave Jacques Chirac ran away,
Bravely ran away, away.
When danger reared its ugly head,
he bravely turned his tail and fled.
Yes, brave Jacques Chirac turned about
And gallantly, he chickened out.
Bravely taking to his feet,
He beat a very brave retreat,
Bravest of the brave, Jacques Chirac.

The usually accepted figure is 92,000 KIA, although I've always considered that to be high.

92,000 is what I thought the accepted number was as well; my guess is that the American Conservative editors found a number for effect that included civilian deaths, but I did not want to make the editorial change.

How many died when the equally inept Italian army invaded France in June 1940? Probably a couple thousand anyway.
