Please forgive the vanity, but my family is desperate for some FReeper help and prayers!
My niece, Michelle Berry, left home for a walk at 4:30PM on Sunday, March 2, 2003. She's 14 years old, blonde hair, blue eyes, about 5' 2", between 115-120 pounds. She's a beautiful girl and will be noticed in a crowd.
Michelle has run away before, but has always called or had a friend call for her. But this time, she left wearing flip flops and didn't take anything with her, no money, not her purse, nothing!
Her friends, old boyfriends, etc have not heard from her and are helping us pass out flyers and asking people if they've seen her.
Michelle's parents, Shiela and Allen Berry, are worried sick, as any of us would be in this situation and I'm hoping that some FReeper eyes and prayers can bring Michelle home. This is the FOURTH day and she's NEVER been gone this long, especially without calling her friends!!!
Note: She had her mother's cell phone with her and 2 calls were made. One at 5:04PM where she tried to call her friend Eric, but he did not answer and the other at 5:15PM to her friend Chris who did answer and has told us that she was calling to let him know that she wasn't coming over. We have spoken to the cell phone company and they informed us that no other calls have been logged on that number, but that it appears to still be within the range of the Miami tower.
No one has spoken to her since, but last night, a call came in to the house from that cell phone number. When Allen answered it, the person on the other end hung up. This gives us hope that she is just scared to call, and that's why I'm asking for prayers.
I pray that Michelle is just pulling a teenage stunt and that nothing has happened to her, but as more and more time goes by, our desperation grows. Please pray for her safe and quick return!
Thank you so very much.

Prayer bump!
I insisted he call her back and tell her that she MUST call the news desk at ALL of the local stations and beg for them to run a blurb on Michelle. Most will.
The police are very slow on moving but I understand that they feel this is a runaway and they do not wish to waste resources on a girl that they feel could show up at home any minute.
I have such a terrible feeling about this whole thing. She didn't take anything and that isn't like her. Not even a 20 snagged out of her mom's purse. Very strange and not encouraging.
The Psalms about God as our Fortress are VERY GOOD to pray for those we love and have fears about (and for ourselves).
Just one example:
Psalm 144:
1 Praise be to the LORD my(Michelle's) Rock,
2 He is my (Michelle's) loving God and my (her) fortress,
my (her) stronghold and my (her) deliverer,
my (her) shield, in whom I (she - we) take refuge,
who subdues peoples [1] under me (her).
3 O LORD , what is man (Michelle) that you care for him (her),
the son (daughter) of man that you think of him (her)? 4 Man (She) is like a breath;
his (her) days are like a fleeting shadow.
5 Part your heavens, O LORD , and come down (on MIchelle's behalf - and thank you that you HAVE COME in the person of Jesus Christ, Michelle's strong deliverer);
touch the mountains, so that they smoke.
6 Send forth lightning and scatter (Michelle's enemies};
shoot your arrows and rout them (away from her).
7 Reach down your hand from on high;
deliver me (Michelle) and rescue me (Michelle)
from the mighty waters, (of trouble around her)
from the hands of foreigners (those who may be coming against her)
8 whose mouths are full of lies,
whose right hands are deceitful.
9 I will sing a new song to you, O God;
on the ten-stringed lyre I will make music to you,
10 to the One who gives victory to kings (to Michelle),
who delivers his servant David (his daughter Michelle) from the deadly sword.
11 Deliver me (Michelle) and rescue me (her)
from the hands of foreigners (those coming against her) whose mouths are full of lies,
whose right hands are deceitful.
12 Then our sons in their youth
will be like well-nurtured plants,
and our daughters (Michelle) will be like a pillar(s) carved to adorn a palace. (to adorn the palace of our King Jesus)
13 Our barns will be filled
with every kind of provision.
Our sheep will increase by thousands,
by tens of thousands in our fields;
14 our oxen will draw heavy loads. [2]EVERY NEED WILL BE PROVIDED FOR MICHELLE and for those who love her)
There will be no breaching of walls, (by MIchelle's enemies)
no going into captivity, (of Michelle)
no cry of distress in our streets.(by MIchelle - or by us)
15 Blessed are the people (Michelle-by our prayers) of whom this is true;
blessed are the people whose God is the LORD. (Michelle and her parents and loved ones by our prayers)
Well - this is just another example where we can "pray the scriptures" - God ALWAYS acts to fulfill His Word.
So we can pray these with confidence because HIs Word is according to HIS WILL. And then we just thank Him, Praise Him, rejoice in the Lord who is our strength.
Enough on this - praying will continue - with thanksgiving.
They've already asked for record of all calls made and received on their home phone this past weekend as well.
As far as the news stations, the police said that the news works with them (the police). They said that they are working on the case (detectives) before asking the news to help.
I'm going to go ahead and e-mail the news myself. I'll give them her parents info if they need to verify the story and maybe they'll run with it anyway. I hope.
I'm emailing the news. Like you said, it can't hurt!
Thank you and prayers sent.
