Lori was FABULOUS!

Thanks so much to Freepers, one and all, who gave me a reason to smile at the start of my day.

Comments from Charlie Daniels ...
WEBSTER & ASSOCIATES PUBLIC RELATIONS
for immediate release
March 4, 2003

An Open Letter To The Hollywood Bunch:
Ok let's just say for a moment you bunch of pampered, overpaid, unrealistic children had your way and the U.S.A. didn't go into Iraq.

Let's say that you really get your way and we destroy all our nuclear weapons and stick daisies in our gun barrels and sit around with some white wine and cheese and pat ourselves on the back, so proud of what we've done for world peace.

Let's say that we cut the military budget to just enough to keep the National Guard on hand to help out with floods and fires. Let's say that we close down our military bases all over the world and bring the troops home, increase our foreign aid and drop all the trade sanctions against everybody.

I suppose that in your fantasy world this would create a utopian world where everybody would live in peace. After all, the great monster, the United States of America, the cause of all the world's trouble would have disbanded it's horrible military and certainly all the other countries of the world would follow suit. After all, they only arm themselves to defend their countries from the mean old U.S.A.

Why you bunch of pitiful, hypocritical, idiotic, spoiled mugwumps. Get your head out of the sand and smell the Trade Towers burning. Do you think that a trip to Iraq by Sean Penn did anything but encourage a wanton murderer to think that the people of the U.S.A. didn't have the nerve or the guts to fight him?

Barbra Streisand's fanatical and hateful rankings about George Bush makes about as much sense as Michael Jackson hanging a baby over a railing.

You people need to get out of Hollywood once in a while and get out into the real world. You'd be surprised at the hostility you would find out here. Stop in at a truck stop and tell an overworked, long-distance truck driver that you don't think Saddam Hussein is doing anything wrong.

Tell a farmer with a couple of sons in the military that you think the United States has no right to defend itself. Go down to Baxley, Georgia and hold an anti-war rally and see what the folks down there think about you.

You people are some of the most disgusting examples of a waste of protoplasm I've ever had the displeasure to hear about. Sean Penn, you're a traitor to the United States of America. You gave aid and comfort to the enemy. How many American lives will your little, "fact finding trip" to Iraq cost? You encouraged Saddam to think that we didn't have the stomach for war. You people protect one of the most evil men on the face of this earth and won't lift a finger to save the life of an unborn baby. Freedom of choice you say?

Well I'm going to exercise some freedom of choice of my own. If I see any of your names on a marquee, I'm going to boycott the movie. I will completely stop going to movies if I have to. In most cases it certainly wouldn't be much of a loss.

You scoff at our military who's boots you're not even worthy to shine. They go to battle and risk their lives so ingrates like you can live in luxury. The day of reckoning is coming when you will be faced with the undeniable truth that the war against Saddam Hussein is the war on terrorism.

America is in imminent danger. You're either for her or against her. There is no middle ground.
I think we all know where you stand.
What do you think?
God Bless America!
Charlie Daniels

Here is the e-mail that I just sent to stophollywood@yahoo.com and God'sgrrl:
Hi, Lori - I understand that you are now registered to post on Free Republic.
Me, too - I am "RonDog" there. :o)

Your noble deeds at the Citizens Against Celebrity "Pundits" are heart-warming, and I LOVE your website.
You truly are a"kindred spirit!"

The LA Chapter of Free Republic has recently joined forces with L.A. homeless activist, Ted Hayes - to promote a series of SUPPORT OUR TROOPS rallies all across southern California.
We are also VERY TIRED of seeing the "anti-war" crowd getting such extensive coverage in the mainstream media, and have now held these pro-USA rallies at the South Coast Plaza in Orange County, at Cal State University Long Beach and most recently, at the Los Angeles Marathon last weekend.

Next on our schedule is our "SUPPORT OUR TROOPS" rally at the Academy Awards on SUNDAY, March 23 - and this is where we need YOUR input - and "connections" - to help insure that we achieve MAXIMUM exposure.

(Ted Hayes is the driving force behind a series of events which we call the "March Against Terrorism" - sponsored by a group called FIT-AIM-ACT (see their website, at www.FITAIMACT.org.)

We have decided that the theme of THIS event should NOT be the NEGATIVE message that the "anti-war" folks are "useful idiots" - who are giving aid and comfort to the enemy, although that is certainly true. Rather, we prefer to stress the POSITIVE message that over the years, the Academy has traditionally supported the military - and that they now need to return to those patriotic roots.

Bob Hope (as you know) was Master of Ceremonies for the Academy Awards more often than any other.
Elvis Presley joined the Army when his country needed him.
Henry Fonda, Jimmy Stewart and MANY other big-name stars served their country in uniform.
John Wayne, Ronald Reagan and MANY MORE stars served their country by making pro-America movies.

We believe that by reminding the folks who will be watching the Oscars of the Hollywood's glorious past, the contrast with the today's handful of "bad apples" will be devastating - without us having to even mention the names of these "pacifist actors."

Bottom line: The proposed "SUPPORT OUR TROOPS" rally at the Oscars will be good for the Academy, good for the Kodak Theatre - and good for America.

Can YOU help us get this message out through YOUR public appearances?

THANK YOU,
Ron

Ron Smith (who posts under the screen name "RonDog" on Free Republic)

PS - After the Oscars, we need to start planning how WE can support YOUR efforts. Many of the folks who are registered to post on Free Republic forum are HUGE supporters of the men and women who serve in the Armed Forces, and we look forward to ANY WAY that we can help you encourage them.

Way to go, Lori. Great job! And Fox (that would be Kiran Chetry:-) mentioned that she had to travel two hours to their NC studio, then two hours back home. Thanks for turning your passion into action, Lori!

I'm glad she went on late! I'm in CA and I get up at 5:30am every day just to catch the last 1/2 hour of F&F. I didn't know Lori was a FReeper - but I should have guessed it! God bless her, God bless the USA and GOD BLESS OUR TROOPS!

Cheers, CC :)

Charlie Daniels is on my hero list:

"Well I'm going to exercise some freedom of choice of my own. If I see any of your names on a marquee, I'm going to boycott the movie. I will completely stop going to movies if I have to. In most cases it certainly wouldn't be much of a loss."

Now where are all the other C&W stars (you know - the ones who didn't forget where their freedom comes from)?

THEY DON'T ALL STINK IN HOLLYWOOD: A LIST OF THE *BAD* GUYS

And now the celebrities and SAG -- the Screen Actor's Guild -- are claiming boycotting them is "McCarthyism." It seems they claim "unique" rights in this country. They can say and do whatever it is they please, however vile it might be, and us "common" folk aren't afforded the same rights.

They can slam GW but we can't slam them. They can boycott Rush's advertisers but we can't boycott them or their sponsors. They can make political "threats" against GW and Republicans but we can't make career "threats" against them.

Ahhhh . . . the hubris of the famous. Us lowly FReeper peons are gonna teach them a few lessons.

Here was my comment on my petition to Citizens Against Celebrity Pundits:

"Six generations of my family have served to protect the freedoms Americans have - freedoms unlike any other country in the history of the world. That includes my two sons now serving in uniform. While they risk their lives to guarantee the freedom of Hollywood actors to burn the U.S. flag in the streets of Los Angeles, San Francisco, and New York City, a message needs to be sent to Hollywood - WE ARE WATCHING YOU. Support for our movies, songs, sponsors will be affected by your (lack of) support for American Servicemen and Women now laying their lives on the lines. Find Charlie Daniel's open letter and read it. The days of standing by as sheeples while you people defame, deface, belittle, and castigate those defending your freedom are over!"

OK, New rules are now in effect!

No member of the "entertainment community" will be allowed to speak in public on any issue of public interest until,
1 It can be proven that the "star" can speak in an intelligent manner and in other than sound bytes.

2 Their views/comments/opinionsare vetted by an adult.

I missed seeing Lori today.....had an early doctor's appointment.

But I can guarantee Lori is as genuine & sincere as she appears.

We went to the same church together before she moved to North Carolina, and I knew her quite well.

She is a neat lady, and has a very loving family.

She became politically aware/active several years ago.
