Anyone know of any good small to medium size conservative colleges which have a selective-highly selective policy?
I am looking for ones in the East Coast mainly, or maybe a little to the center of the US.
I am looking maybe to transfer out of this hole where people are saying stuff like this regarding my anti-Affirmative Action Stance, pro-War stance, etc.:
Thanks Yoni
----------------------------------------------------
Concerning an article I posted by Paul E. Scates "Anti-War Or Anti-Reality?" (Source:http://toogoodreports.com/column/general/scates/20030305.htm)
Someone wrote this:
This article is disgustingly ignorant and wrong. I am embarassed to know that someone in this school agrees with what is stated here. Yoni, I hope you posted this message to effect outrage, because if you truly believed what was written here, I hope you die at an early age, so that you don´t get a chance to spread your hate to others, or, god forbid, a child.
This article was written by a rich white man, a man who would never have to choose between having an abortion or giving birth to a child born of rape, who would never know what it was like to grow up in the ghetto without a role model or adequate funds in the community to support a collegiate venture, a man who would never know the horror of war because he himself would never have to fight.
THe average income of a black American is 61% less than the average income of a white American. That is the same % difference as it was in 1880. So don´t tell me that the playing field is equal you ignorant asshole.
Yoni, may I suggest that you transfer colleges? No one here wants your hate and intolerance spreading across campus. No one likes a warhawk, either. I will fight you on every single one of your issues, and I will win, because my political beliefs are based on love and compassion, which is always stronger than your money, greed, and hate.
--------------
In another post someone asked this question:
Hey Yoni, I´m gonna ask you a serious question, and please, be honest: are you the person behind the recent hate crimes at Conn College? I ask this because in my time here, i have not met a single person who is more openly racist than you. Your article in the Voice combined with recent posts have led me to believe that you are ignorant and outspoken enough (the worst combo possible, by the way) to commit hate crimes.

I'm at U. of Pittsburgh, we're not conservative, but at least we are balanced. Also large Hillel/Chabad presence.

Hillsdale College. Don't know it's location. Always gets highest rating in National Review's college guide.

One problem with these threads is that you really need to specify whether you'd accept an Evangelical Protestant Christian college or not; they seem to be the ones that people constantly recommend in these threads, but even for a lot of people who can't stand their current Socialist-whacko dominated college, I don't think they'd like one of the really religious Protestant colleges any better. I think one of the more conservative small Catholic colleges would have a less oppressive atmosphere. (Donning flame-retardant suit.)
The University of Chicago, particularly in Departments traditionally dominated by leftists at other universities, has a surprisingly large number of right-wing professors. Little less certain about the student body. It's probably the easiest REALLY good school to get into; doesn't have a giant crush of applicants other schools do. I got in there when I transferred, but did not end up going there, and my grades at my previous school weren't that good.

Not Penn, as someone suggested. Probably not Dartmouth either. Believe it or not ASU is considered by the college reviewers as a conservative school (the new pres. is working hard to change that)with the campus being filled with children of upper middle class Republicans. That's supposed to be bad, but it sounded pretty good to us.

I am Jewish. I would most likely want to go to a non-denominational school or a school which may have been founded by Christians, etc. but religion is not a main part in a required course load.

My brother and sister went there (long ago); student body at W & M probably not nearly as leftist as a lot of other colleges.
Hmm, I spoke too soon; people really AREN'T hyping the small evangelical Protestant colleges on this thread after all.

Hillsdale College is located in South Central Michigan just north of the point where Ohio and Indiana join the Michigan border. It is about 2 hours SW of Detroit, 1-2 hours W-NW of Toledo, probably about 3-4 hours east of Chicago...and about an hour west of my home.

Hillsdale College in Hillsdale, Michigan. It is in southern Michigan near the Indianna border. It is an outstanding school. I hope to send my children to college there someday.

I agree, Not Penn. Maybe Villanova (Catholic) located in Main Line area of Philadelphia. More balanced. Upper middle class, and more likely to be offspring of hard-working conservatives. Beautiful campus is a plus.

Where are you now?
It's typical liberal drivel. It's all ad hominem, short on facts and no logic.
I'd like to see the source of the data that shows black income versus white income now and in 1880.
