Does anybody remember The Simpsons episode where they had the UN Club meeting. It was the 'Lord of the Flies' spoof episode. At one point all the students starting arguing and hitting each other. Principal Seymor Skinner says (if I remember correctly)."Children, do you all want to sit around a bicker and waste time or do you want to act like the UN". I believe that was the quote. When I read this story, I immediatly thought of that episode.

Loved that episode! Especially where Ralph breaks into singing "OH, CANADA". 'course, later, when they're marooned on the island, everyone has war paint on and Ralph just says, "meow"...

Maybe the kids were making the point that the UN is worthless, but I doubt that they would repel from their programming and indoctrination and think for themselves.
