A Pasadena man mistakenly shot in the face by an FBI agent searching for a bank robber filed a $10 million lawsuit yesterday against three agents, alleging that they disregarded bureau arrest policies and then played down the potentially deadly result, telling an informant at the scene: "This [expletive] happens every day."

AS to the GJ and their decision - DO YOU THINK those people up there are GROWN UP ENOUGH to make an important decision as like what's required when serving on a grand jury?
What worries me is - NOW you're beginning to sound like Hillary! where you suspect that people in their *own* towns and counties can't take care of their *own* affairs (like GJ service) without an 'overseer' from outside second guessing their *every* decision ...
HOW do you put a dollar amount on something like that anyway?
This is absolutely meaningless and you know it Jim. A Grand Jury hears only the evidence that a prosecutor decides to bring. The prosecutor is in [almost] complete control of the outcome to a Grand Jury investigation
Everyone in this country knows that something doesn't smell right with Braga's shooting here and the FBI seems to think the kid should feel lucky they didn't throw down a weapon and charge him with something.
Braga is dirty and should have been shown the door. Instead the fibbies do what they've always done, circle the wagons and protect their own.
The sadest thing is that this ends up in a civil case costing the taxpayers millions while Braga is back on the job instead of in jail worrying about is 'virginity'.
Yes,
You are repeating yourself. And the effect is the same as it was the first time you said it.
"no-billed" and "cleared of wrongdoing" are NOT the same thing in the real world.
But, that's just me....

A valid concern to be sure. I agree that locals are better capable to handle the affairs of their jurisdiction. However in this case (no, I don't have documentation to support it) the Grand Jury was comprised of state government employeees.
I probably shouldn't have posted the information you reacted to because it has turned your head from the immediacies of this case. For that I retract what I posted.
Getting back to the original circumstances: Do you agree that the feds were extra-jurisdictional in this case? After all robbery should be dealt with at the state level, no?
In addition, it appears that the Anne Arundel PD probably would have handled the matter better. I can't think of the last time they shot someone in the face but I could be wrong.
Amen, now crawl back in whatever whole you share with the rest of the government employees.
He does it for the attention.
The right answer is: You don't
You lock the guilty son of a bitch up and make a severe example out of him. Helps encourage the rest of the arrogant 'agents' to act like humans.
Gosh. What color ball cap should I wear today. Red? Gray? White? No, yes. Maybe I should call up the feds and ask them the description of their lastest hot suspect so I can make sure I'm not dressed like that. Maybe I should rent a car if mine looks like that of the hot suspect.
After all, it's my responsibility to keep up with hot suspect appearances and vehicles so I can not look like one, right? If I do then I can be blown away with full justification by the first federal policeman that feels jumpy, right?
My friend, do you really, really think that justice was served? That is what you seem to be saying.
If you do, I can only figure that you really, really believe that the point of agencies that are charged with the protection of Americans from domestic threats is to kill or destroy any innocents so long as a criminal can be found in the accumulated bodies and bankruptcies.
Is that a fair description of where your head is?
Whenever there's defending of the jackboots to do, the same bits of trash repeatedly blow up the street... Just a FYI to all you new FReepers and lurkers. Do searches on their names, and read the posts.
Now let's see if the others are on thread too. Quick man the phone trees!
Very interesting comparison. Pitiful creature, working for a dark master....
That would stop this.
