H.R. 502 No to Matricula Consular ID Cards

The issuance of "Matricula Consular" identification cards to illegal aliens in the United States by the Mexican government is a frontal assault on America's system of laws and sovereignty. Peddled to Mexican illegals through the Mexican government's many consular offices in the United States, these documents serve one purpose alone: to falsely confer legitimacy upon those who are in this country illegally. These cards are then used by illegals to attain driver's licenses, to open bank accounts, and increasingly to access government services to which they have no legal right in the United States.
But it doesn't stop there. Earlier this year it was revealed that a pilot program was underway in San Francisco to have these phony identification cards accepted at a U.S. federal building. These cards are issued to individuals who go to a Mexican consulate, pay a fee, and present some proof of birth in Mexico. The press has subsequently reported numerous times on the black market of phony Mexican birth certificates. Literally anyone with the will could enter this country, purchase a phony birth certificate, and receive a free pass from the Mexican government into U.S. government facilities. Talk about an open door for potential terrorists! Wisely the program to accept these cards as valid identification in San Francisco's federal building was suspended, but the issuance of these cards for other purposes continues. Most importantly, there is no law in place to stop other such ill-advised government acceptance of the "Matricula Consular" cards.

Sorry, no time to read the whole article. Is this a bill to prohibit the cards' being accepted?

The sheer numbers of phony American IDs that have turned up among airport workers in "secure" areas should be enough for any citizen to see the folly of Matricula Consular ID cards!
If we can't control our own IDs, how in the world can we control those of another country?
I read something awhile back claiming that other states could withdraw reciprocity of acknowledgment of State of California IDs as valid if our state government went the way of Matricula Consular. Can't say I'd blame them.
We might as well be carrying Pokemon cards!

Is it against U.S. law to make and sell fake mexican "Matricula Consular" ID's?
They are not "legally" valid in the U.S. so it wouldn't be like I was selling real ID's, since no American should be accepting them as a real ID.

It shouldn't be against the law for us to make fake ones ----as long as we didn't try to use them in Mexico but I doubt they're used at all in Mexico anyway. It's a foreign card and nothing more.

How much do you know about them??? They are safer than ANY ID in the US, including passports. They are almost impossible to immitate.
How many Mexican terrorists have you heard about? None? Thought so... This IDs are only given to Mexican citizens, and would help the US screen for immigrants that could be connected to terrorism. Plus, if one of these immigrants commited a crime, he would have an ID, which would make the legal investigations easier for the government. Oh, and the TERRORISTS of 9/11 HAD VALID US VISAS, maybe the problem is on the US's screening process, not illigal immigrants. Furthermore, any government has a right to issue IDs to its citizens, according to the Vienna COnvention (of which the US is a member) the US has a right to accept them or not, but not to prohibit Mexico from issuing them. They are not, and have never been, intended or used as substitutes for visas.

Excuse Me?
I don't care WHAT crapola the Mexican government issues. I DON'T CARE IF THEY ISSUE PONCHO AND CISCO CARDS. That doesn't mean ANY American entity need honor them!
As far as I'm concerned, the Matricula Consular cards would actually be WORTH something if they were wrapped around a square of unchewed BUBBLE GUM!
Get A Grip!
And, tell me, how often to you find the occasion to use this "ID" in your home country?
