FUJI-TV Japan (w/ accompanying short video) presented a story and update about the idiotic and misdirected JAPANESE HUMAN SHIELDS.

See the short video, above.

Main points ('Freepranslation' by "AmericanInTokyo"):

--Iraq presented the human shields from Japan with requests they go to selected sites.

--These sites are, among others, electrification sites, power generation, oil production facilities, food storage, and the like.

--The Japanese accepted the conditions, unlike various British 'human shields' who left Iraq when they refused to follow Iraqi 'instructions' and 'directions.'

--A spokesman for the Japanese group said, 'unlike the British groups before, we are going to cooperate'. The Japanese checked out of their hotels and have headed to the sites, and are now spending their days and nights there.

--One message from a 'human shield' has been received in Tokyo, stating, "Today I went, as a human shield, to the "al-Dara" power plant in Baghdad. This was hit by the US in the Gulf War but restored, I heard. Well, we here have everything we need; food, water, a bed, no problems so we can stay here."

--(AIT Note): The Japanese Embassy personnel in Baghdad had tried earlier and pleaded with the demonstrators to get out of Iraq or risk being taken hostage or killed in a US/British/Willing Coaltion onslaught.

In the video clip, some of the Japanese demonstrators, foolishly outlining their hopeless plans, are interviewed against the backdrop of further anti-US rallies in Baghdad.

Poor fools. :-( One can only hope they will come to their senses in time.

Correction for the record: TBS Television Network. (I believe Fuji also ran a similar story today). Sorry for any confusion. Enjoy the report.

**Well, we here have everything we need; food, water, a bed, no problems so we can stay here."**

This guy doesn't even begin to realize the problems he has.

I was thinking.

You know, it will be very, very sad for their parents back in Japan down the road, when the various documents America recovers in Baghdad from the bowels of Iraqi bureaucracy after the war that will show internally how they were simply, cruelly and purposely placed in strategic Iraqi military areas (where the regime was hiding WMD or other combatant materiel) and for their parents to read these indeed. Sad.

They will sigh to themselves, "ahh, mottainai. Sonnani. Ano dokusai no tame datta no" ("What a waste. This. And all for that evil man")

Have you ever heard of kamikazes?

Saddam is hoping for a typhoon or ``divine wind'' to save him.

It's a shame they dont realize that they're voluntary hostages, not human shields.

Wow, they were actually waving huge Saddam posters! They're not anti-war, they're pro-fascist!

Let them die. The world will be better off.

At least these idiots had the courage of their convictions and are willing to become real human shields. They are already in line to win the Darwin Award, however.

We have found the links are sometime no good after 5, 10 or 12 hours, unfortunately. We need a way to archive those on a disk, and then attach, if that makes sense.
