SAN DIEGO DETECTIVE AIDS IN LACI PETERSON CASE
(03-04-2003) - A private investigator from San Diego made an unusual discovery in Northern California that just might help police in their search for missing Modesto woman, Laci Peterson.
Bill Garcia spotted a chunk of cement by a waterway near Modesto.
It was interesting because it was the only patch of cement we saw in about 20, 30 miles stretch. And there was a tire track through it, said Garcia.
Last week, the couple who sold a boat to Laci's husband Scott, said cement residue in the boat wasn't there when they owned it.
Regardless of who might be responsible, Garcia, along with the help of a private field engineer, have made it their mission to find Laci, with no guidance from Modesto Police of Lacis family.
Her family needs to know what happened, said Garcia. Whether shes out there and someones holding her or whether shes no longer with us, and we bring her home, or we help in bringing her home.
Recently, Garcia helped in the search for Danielle van Dam, and also tracked down Phillip Salcedo, the armored car driver accused of stealing money in January.

Great thought! I wonder if those who saw the footage of the patch of cement could tell us if the tire tracks looked like an automobile tire, or like a smaller tire--such as those auxiliary wheels?

Likewise, nice to meet you and welcome to FR..

That's true--and that's something I've overlooked. This took place right as Christmas came. Can't be much more cruel than to permanently ruin Christmas for a whole family of people.
And then I was reading that Scott didn't tell his parents Laci was missing until Christmas morning. Christmas morning! "Hi, Merry Christmas! Laci's gone! She's been gone for over 12 hours now! Yes, a whole cold, dark, night has passed, and wherever she is, she didn't spend it in our snug, warm, comfy home."
Just me, speculating. But you know, I sometimes even think of how cold it is where people I've loved, many years dead, are lying. Even though I know THEY can't feel the cold. And Scott wasn't even upset enough about his wife and baby, possibly alive, possibly out in the cold dark night, to call his mom and dad??

But wait. How long could the cement have remained wet enough to retain a permanent impression of the tire tracks? It would have dried eventually, and then... no tire tracks in it.

DA did you see the video at post #124. If not click on Bill Garcia. But you are not able to see tire tracks or at least I could not.

Thanks. I get tired of hearing things like, "the police have nothing." We just don't KNOW what the police do and don't have!
But we sure do know what our common sense tells us about Scott's behavior. I thought common sense was good. At least, that's what lawyers are always telling jurors!

The cement on the side of the canal(?). Just mixed, not set and the tire rolled through it, presumably while a vehicle was leaving. You see the problem, SP would be leaving before the cement set up. Wet cement used as an anchor or weight?
The timing seems all wrong to be mixing cement at that location if she is in the water. Even if he rolled a utility wheel through it, he spent alot of time in one spot waiting for the cement, oops, concrete to set up.
Maybe in the dead of night he felt safe there, though. Say 2AM 12/24. Mix it up at the back of the truck in a container on the ground. Transfer the concrete into the container holding the body in the back of the truck. Back the truck a little closer to the water, rolling through fresh concrete that had been spilled. Dump the sealed container off the back of the truck into the water. I don't know about this scenario.

You've got a very good memory about PI Garcia, that brings back some things I forgot about him..Thanks

Jeez, that snow up there hasn't let up for a good while, has it? Come on spring!

I thought I read that someone said Bill Peterson (boat seller) lives in Sonora.
To: RGSpincich
Good thoughts only maybe had the concrete bags in his boat ..put barrel in boat place mixed conctrete in barrel put body in barrel then used boat like a wheel barrel to dump off shore a bit..this could explain concrete residue in boat.nothing said yet about residue being in truck just maybe blood somewhere

Uh-oh. I just posted to you that I thought I'd read that the boat seller lived in Sonora. BUT I mistakenly called him "Bill" Peterson. I meant Bruce Peterson. Anyway, I was talking about the guy who sold the boat to Scott.

Now you've done it! If Runningbear starts taking time out to sleep, how will we all get the pings we look for each day??

Thanks for the welcome, DA. As I've stated before, I've been lurking on FR since 2000 (election), and lately I've been reading all the posts on Laci. Previously, I lurked on the E. Smart threads, so I'm familiar with many of you posters. I know where you live. LOL
DA, you asked what's taking MPD so long to put the cuffs on Snotty. How about they're trying to make a case for premeditated murder? I hope that is what's happening. Otherwise, how in the world did MPD get a warrant for such a broad search? I suspect if this is premeditated murder, that Laci's body will be found (if not found already), that she was probably strangled Chandra Levy style, and that they think he did it in the home. Snotty may be playing games with cement and the marina just as he did with the dog. Possible?
I also wonder if he's called the insurance company and listed her as missing with them. If so, the insurance company may have some investigators of its own.
