WASHINGTON, DC -- Jan 19, 2005 (AP) -- In his outgoing address to the nation, President Bush said Iraq has missed it's final, last, ultimate chance, and that war is the only option.

Saddam Hussein was born on April 28, 1937, He is now 65 years old . I suggest GWB should wait for another 25 years , Saddam Hussein will be death by then . Save our bullets .

Scowcroft and Baker have egg on their faces, as well. Cheney was absolutely right when he said the inspection route via the UN was a trap.

I repeat again, I am standing by the April 1 date I predicted in November.

I was wondering how long it would be before we heard another 'disinformation' or 'it's all part of the plan' opinion to show up.

Pretty good call. :)

I have been watching a little too much of the History Channel lately. It seems like the battles that have been won convincingly or bloodless, is the one when you catch your enemy by surprise. Americans love bloodless victories. Well, all the blood on the side of the enemy and not our soldiers.

I must say, I find all of this impatience a little bit like the demands made of Irwin McDowell to move "On to Richmond" in 1861, with the result that relatively unready troops were pushed into a battle for which their commanders were not adequately prepared. First Manassas was a disaster for the North. I think I'm gonna take a chill pill and let Bush do what he needs to. If it turns out he screwed the pooch, then we'll put the Demoncrats in charge to make it all even worse.

So what's new! Colin Powell is the reason we are in this mess to begin with. Remember back in the Gulf war and we were kickin the $hit out the Iraq's on the "highway of death"? He told Bush that we can't do this and stopped the march to Bagdad. Now he's still draggin' us around with all his hand wringing.

"it's a ruse"

Probably. This is a report from Army Radio broadcasting IN the region.

There is a difference between impatience and being concerned about the quality of the interim period.

"I consider the Free Republic to be a relatively legitimate gague of conservative opinion and it is clear that Bush's support base is starting to lose patience with him. The number of disaffected posts should be taken very seriously as a real indication of waning confidence. What does this say about the future of this venture and the administration in general? It would seem that should there be additional indefinite delays that the mood does not bode well for this administration."

We the public receive the same media reports as Saddam Hussein.

Deception is a fundamental principle of war, and was used extensively in Gulf War 1.

The "what" and the "when" are best kept hidden by confusion and feints, at least in the public arena.

Do you know where the 4th ID is right now? How do you know?

I agree. I am just concerned that we do this right. And the last think I want is for my impatience (and that of my fellow conservatives) to cause decisions to be taken that ought not be taken.

Looking at some of the replies on this thread, I can only imagine Saddam is climbing the walls right now.

Relax, folks. Our 250,000 are in place now. And Iraq is still guilty as sin.

There's absolutely no way this war isn't happening.

Nope. We're going in. Nothing will stop us. Not even North Korea going hot.

truth be known, we had planned to conquer Iraq before 9/11. 9/11 actually delayed the process, we had to take out Afghanistan first.

right. Imagine Iraq's generals now. Do they move their heavy force that was supposed to meet the 4th ID from the North down to the south now?

Or do they leave them in place, to be completely out of place when the attack comes from the South.

The answer is that as soon as they start to move forces south from the north, THAT is when we will strike from both directions.

Our objective is to keep his forces MOVING. When they are moving they are useless and as vulnerable as a duck crossing a highway.

I think things are going brilliantly well!

It was announced last week that our intel was seeing him pulling out of the north. Its even possible he had a heads up on the vote. In any case, he has already been moving forces south for a week and we haven't moved.
