You know, I've never been to Valley Forge. What would your basic directions from DC be?

Take I-95 North to Wilmington, Delaware. Look for 202 North. Take 202 North into Pennsylvania - it will be a 4 to 6 lane road with traffic lights. Near West Chester, it will veer off to the right and become a 4-lane highway. Follow that for about 15 miles until you see an exit for Pennsylvania 252. Take that north to into Valley Forge Park, and it will dead-end into PA 23 at a traffic light. Turn left at the light, and Freedom Foundation will be on your right after about a mile or so.

It takes me about 2 1/2 hrs to get to No.Virginia from my home - about 20 minutes south of Valley Forge.
The easiest way is to take
95 North through MD and Delaware.
Stay left to Wilmington-Philadelphia.
Take 495 (Delaware) around Wilmington towards Philadelphia.
This will re-connect to 95 N (at the Pa line).
Take 476 (The Blue Route) NORTH.
Exit at Rt.76 WEST towards Valley Forge.
Continue to follow directions I've posted.
There is MEGA-construction at Rt 202 & 76 in King of Prussia, so be prepared for slow-ups.

Dirtboy's directions might be better than mine. I believe his is a more direct route as the crow flies.

Dirtboy's directions might be better than mine. I believe his is a more direct route as the crow flies.I initially was going to take them your way, but going up 202 misses all that lovely construction in King of Prussia (an elderly couple in a Mercury Marquis is purported to be lost for almost a week somewhere in the turnoff to 422).
