Just heard about this on the way to work this morning: A group of bikers is sponsoring a "Rally for Freedom" to support the troops in Pittsburgh at Point State Park on Saturday, March 8th at 11:00 a.m. A caller to the Jim Quinn "Warroom" on WRRK made the announcement. Anybody else hear about this?

We've sent troops into Pittsburg? Just kidding haven't heard anything yet. But I'd rather drink a beer with a Hell's Angel than Susan Sarandumb.

LOL! I guess I should have phrased that a bit differently!
I'm hoping to go. If I can make it to D.C. from where I live, I'm sure I can make the 55 mile drive to Pittsburgh!

Don't know. I just heard about it. I'm hoping to get some folks together from the Indiana, Pa. area. I've already got some signs that I made up for the D.C. Patriots rally (which never got used because I forgot them! LOL!)

I emailed Jim Quinn for more info - haven't heard back yet - Will keep you posted.
It'd be nice to have a celebrity there to help get the masses there. Of course broadcasting it on the radio wouldn't hurt either... :)

Thanks Jeffrey! Please do let me know. I just caught it on the radio, and Quinn didn't seem to know anything about it until this caller made it known to him. It would be great if he made a few more announcements about it and made a showing there!

I must have tuned in after you heard the caller tell Jim about the rally, because Quinn was saying (to the audience) "see you Saturday at Point Park." I'm sure he'll mention it again tomorrow.

You were at the DC rally? So was I. Seven of us drove down from Pittburgh. Maybe I'll see you at the Point. I'll have a 3' x 5' yellow Gadsden "Don't Tread On Me" flag.

Yep, I was at the DC Rally. I contacted you to say I was interested in going down with the group. Guess you forgot, LOL! Anyway, when you didn't get back to me, my son and I decided to set out on our own - minus my husband, who had to work. (What did you think of that terrible fog on the ride down - and back!) It was a wonderful rally, even if our numbers were small. Let's hope the Pittsburgh rally attracts many. Will you be with other Freepers there? It would be nice to meet other Western Pa. Free Republic members. I have a "Support Our Troops" sign and plan to make a few more. Hoping there's parking nearby?

OMG, I did forget. I'm sorry. Most, but not all of the FReepers who were with me in DC will also be at this rally. I will also be trying to get others to attend.
There is (or was) parking near the Park. It is right behind the PA State Office Building and can be accessed from either the Blvd of the Allies or Liberty Avenue sides of the garage. If that is no longer open or if no spaces are available, there are other garages nearby at Stanwix and Fort Pitt Blvd, and Stanwix and 4th Avenue, and an open lot 2 blocks down the other way by the Pittsburgh Post Gazette bldg.

Quinn mentioned this when he first came on the air this morning and has mentioned it 2 other times. He said he will be there. This should get a crowd there .
