THE PROS AND CONS OF SHERYL CROW

GRAMMY-winner Sheryl Crow has gotten a lot of ink for her anti-war stance in recent months, but the toothy rocker wasn't always such a pacifist. Crow wore a T-shirt reading "War Is Not the Answer" to the American Music Awards in January and sported another reading "I Don't Believe in Your War, Mr. Bush!" on "Good Morning America" in December. At the Grammys, Crow, who told the Associated Press that "I think war is based in greed, and there are huge karmic retributions that will follow," was decked out in a "No War" guitar strap and peace-sign necklace. Back in the mid-1990s, however, Crow was a real G.I. Jane when Bill Clinton sent U.S. troops to the Balkans. At the time, Crow traveled to the region with then-First Lady Hillary Clinton to show her support and joined a USO tour to entertain the troops, reports NewsMax.com. "Once over there I felt extremely patriotic," Crow told USA Today in April 1996. "I don't ever want to play for a regular audience again . . . [only troops] enduring real duress for the cause of peace." Crow, whom the Toronto Sun termed "Hillary Clinton['s] sidekick in Bosnia," went on to write a song called "Redemption Day" condemning America's apathy toward Bosnia. "It's apples and oranges," insists Crow's rep. "But whatever the cause, she'll always support U.S. military personnel."

To heck with Cheryl Crowe, we can live without her. We will miss her just about as much as we would miss the hole in the water, after we pull out our hand.

There's nothing to boycott for me. I've always thought she was a flat loudmouth.

It's not her fault she's a political idiot. Her parents were public school teachers, weren't they?

Many Hollywood types supported all the Clinton wars, they never once minded him killing Serbs, bombing Sudan or Iraq. I wouldn't be surprised if Crow was competing with Monica.

True. Bosnia is a lot harder to justify.

Then again, that was Clinton's war, and as Sheryl's sister said, protesting Clinton just wasn't hip (or is that hyp, as in hypocrite?). It's more important for Hollyweird types to be hip than morally consistent, or right.

LTO, I am with you, give me a week alone with her,
I will straighten her out. She would be a good conservative,
Although she would be very tired for a while.
But she would be happy and supporting Bush,
In one week garuanteed........

Are you still in the joint?!

She is hot — especially for 40-years old!

She is also dumb as a rock.

There is the possibility that she was put up to this recent bit of anti-Bush rhetoric by her old travelling partner Hitlery. I need to put on a tin foil hat.....

From Newsmax 2/25/03

Clinton Had the Hots for War Critic Crow

Yesterday NewsMax.com revealed that anti-war songbird Sheryl Crow put her pacifism aside when it came to Bill Clinton's military deployment in Bosnia, which Crow so enthusiastically backed that she accompanied Hillary Clinton to the Balkan hot spot to entertain the troops.

Now comes word that Crow's patriotic fervor was very much appreciated at the Clinton White House - in more ways than one.

Late Tuesday WABC Radio's Richard Bey recounted a story told by his old college buddy, who went on to become vice president of MTV.

Bey's chum, it seems, got an invite to a White House reception in the late 1990s, where he found himself waiting in a receiving line preparing to shake Bill Clinton's hand.

"My God, what am I going to say to the president?" worried the MTV big.

Bey related his friend's version of what happened next.

"As he gets closer the president takes my hand and shakes it. But he pulls me close to him and he starts whispering in my ear."

According to Bey's friend, Clinton had just one question: "How about that Sheryl Crow? Is she really as hot as she looks on TV?"

I'm sorry, I can't see it. She's about as "hot" as Sarah Jessica Parker or Fergie. Blecch.

I still think the women of yesteryear - Grace Kelly, Carole Lombard, Paulette Goddard, Sophia Loren - absolutely bury today's broads.
