Thank you, President Bush, for my 2002 'income tax' cut!(ME keeping more of MY earnings)
Form 1040(2000, 2001, 2002) | March 2, 2002 | d14truthCPA

Under the 'NEW' tax law, my income tax was $1,275(18%) less than it would have been under the 'LAW' of the prior Administration. Lower rate, IRA adjustment for those over 50, and tuition adjustments helped this mom and dad whose family earnings of roughly $100,000 must put us into the RICH category, according to liberals.

"The left will never say 'DO' what's right."

If you're another of the 'rich' benefactors of the Bush tax cut, feel free to add your story here.

Remember, those who paid NO 'income tax' before will still be paying NO 'income tax' and thus couldn't have their 'income taxes' cut.

I recently got the last data I need to do my taxes, but I just haven't been able to stiffen myself up for the job yet.

I normally do them early. Then if I owe money I put them aside until just before the deadline. But every year it seems to get harder to face this dismal business.

considering that the poverty level is below $10,000 and you probably dont know anyone in that 'lower class'..you are rich in their eyes, regardless of whether they are democrats, republicans, socialists or whatever.. its an economic issue, not a political one .. just wait until the bill comes in for all the 'weapons of mass destruction'(the $40,000 bombs we were dropping for weeks on Afghanistan) comes in.. then youll understand who really got the shaft with this propaganda war..
PS: the CIA already admitted that it was Iran, not Iraq ,that gassed the Kurds.. look it up..

Our $60,000 (only the rich) income in 2002 was embelished with a nice exemption or $6000, thus, we rec'd a refund from IRS. Had to pay Indiana state tax though.

Hey, O'Bannon, where did that nice $2 Billion surplus go?

Well haven't done my taxes yet, but don't be too happy about owing less taxes, they were just postponed...not eliminated. After all, spending has increased to record levels, so what you didn't pay in taxes this year, you will owe (or your children or grandchildren) at some later date.

Until spending gets cut, tax cuts are smoke and mirrors. Pay now or pay later (with interest).

I'd like to see all taxes cut, but I'd rather they cut the spending down first (or at least the same time). Republicans in the presidency, senate and house...what is there excuse for record spending this time.....?

At my children's school, the poverty level(ie free lunches) is $32k for a family of 4.

while the wealthiest 1% laughs their way to the bank

Jealousy is so unbecoming. How much of the tax burden is carried by that 1%?

Get ready folks, here come the << crickets >>

The IRS gave you nothing. It was your money to start with. But I'm sure you already understand this, most people do not.

You should have said I overpaid my taxes so I got my money back from the thieves that stole it in the first place.

You're right. We should immediately stop all medicaid, food stamps, "un"-earned income tax credits, and social security payments to mothers of ritalin kids. We can't afford anymore good-natured, dead-weight spending and wealth transfers while we're at war.

We deserve better from Bush and his Republican Congress & Supreme Court in exchange for our votes, donations and other support in 2000. Don't you think?

No, I think I pay too much in taxes. I pay more in federal taxes than what my yearly starting salary was a couple of decades ago.

How much of their wealth came from mommy & daddy?

That shade of green isn't very becoming. It's not your money, so how about you stop trying to decide what they do with it. Be careful, the "fairness" nazis might decide someday that YOU are too rich for your own good.

"How much of their wealth came from mommy & daddy?"

Actually, it could be 100% and that would coincide with my concept of fairness perfectly. However, I get the feeling that you might be a little bitter about NOT having had a huge inheritance. Here's a hint: most people don't, so get over it. I'll do whatever I want with my money, including leaving huge piles of it (if I had huge piles of it) to my kids if I want.
