I picture them holding up signs reading, "Nevermind!" and "We were only kidding!!"
What idiots.
To: MadIvan
You've done it again, MadIvan! Too much to respond to that hasn't already been said by the others. I'll have to rely on the boys, as usual:
"He's not the Messiah! He's a very naught boy!"

It's like the Clinton regime. You simply can't make this sh!t up. No one would believe it.
This has to be one of the funniest (and truly the saddest and most hopeless) things I have ever read on FR

Paging Mr Darwin. Mr Darwin please report to the receiving devil. You have some special deliveries.

"Bruce, a 24-year-old Canadian wearing a T-shirt saying "I don't want to die" ROTFLMBO! Does anybody else find this mildly ironic?

The only form of credit I'll dispense on these misguided people is that at least they back up their words with life-threatening action - to themselves. Well, at least until it dawned on them that it actually was life threating. Who do they remind me of?
Oh, yeah, that's who!

I think they're like Rosencrantz and Guildenstern from Hamlet. Dumbies in the service of the bad king who die because they are out of their depth, and we the audience enjoy the irony, but it's still sad.

Anyone who would support a liar who debates what "the meaning of is...is" cannot be expected to know that "human shields" means shields made out of humans and not shields FOR humans. These people are so lost.

Thank you, rface. Your comments made me laugh even harder than the article.

My gut reaction is good riddance to these Darwin Award candidates. My compassionate side feels they should institutionalized (and possibly given lobotomies) for their own good, just like is done with any other mentally ill person who is threatening suicide.

You just couldn't make this stuff up. Unbeleivable. Oh, the humanity of it all. Seriously, I can't remember the last time I found anything as funny as this. I'll be laughing myself to sleep tonight for sure.
To: MadIvan
We are at war. These people have chosen to be there on the ground while many already living there would leave all they have if they could do so so freely and safely. Laugh at these fools if you will but don't hesitate a milli-second in wasting these human shields. They are where they want to be.

I would imagine that's exactly why the Iraqi officials won't let them stay with the people. The citizens would probably give them 'an earfull' about what goes on in that country every day! No way are they going to allow that to happen! You'd think they(the human shields) would know this, especially the older ones, and the diplomat lady. How could they let themselves be played for fools!
