I'm still LOL on this one. Their purpose was a publicity stunt not to actually get killed.

Oh Ivan, this is too funny! I guess they expected to go the the Baghdad Childrens Hospital, the Home for the Mentaly Retarded, The SPCA, the Iraqi Arboretum, & of course The Old Dictators Home. Ha you dummies, they don't have places like that. I wish Saddam had captured these morons & chained them in the places he wanted them.

Then they'd be heroes.

Colin Powell or Rumsfeld should 'accidentally' let slip a greeting to the human shields to 'not forget those secret CIA cameras' we gave ya!!

When smart bombs meet dumb shields.
Then again, it seems they're not so dumb after all.

Lord love a duck, I am laughing so hard!
To: MadIvan
This is so funny. Too bad it won't get as much publicity as the shields showing u p in the first place. It shows that Saddam is more concerned about his military sites (oh, sorry, "baby milk factories") than he is about neighborhoods in Baghdad. Too bad those shields won't realize that the Americans will bomb strategic sites, and will try to avoid the everyday Iraqi in the cities.

It heightened fears among some peace activists that they could be stationed at non-civilian sites. Mr Meynell and fellow protesters who moved into the power station in south Baghdad last weekend were dismayed to find it stood immediately next to an army base and the strategically crucial main road south to Basra. Iraqi officials said there was little point in guarding what they considered to be low-risk targets. Come on, guys, you missed the best part of this article.
The entire reason that the human shields went to Iraq in the first place was to save Iraqi women and children from the indiscriminate airstrikes that were sure to kill thousands of civilians.
Lo and behold, the Iraqis themselves admit that there is little risk being anywhere in Baghdad but at a military target.
HO HO HO, peace protesters, what do you think about that? The Iraqis know the score, now you do too. Does that change any of your opinions that this is a war on the Iraqi people?
To: Ditter
You mean there isn't an ACLU satellite office in Baghdad where the freakniks can air their greivances?

What, you mean the Iraqis assume that 99% of the baby milk factories & hospitals won't really be in jeopardy after all???
