[history]
More than 100 Nashvillians turned out this afternoon to hit a French car with a sledgehammer in support of America's troops and to protest French anti-American sentiments.
The ''Bash A Peugeot For Peace'' event at the Beaman Automotive Group on Broadway was sponsored by WWTN radio talk-show host Steve Gill. All proceeds are going to charities that send supplies to troops overseas and their families, who have remained at home.

Peugeots handle better than anything we've made. Probably better built than our crappy automotive offerings. The only decent cars we make are Hondas and Toyotas. I wonder why?

I'm doing my part by abstaining from french fries. Maybe we should start an email petition to the fast food chains to change the name to "Freedom Fries"!

That must explain why French cars are such dominant sellers. Japan sure has some catching up to do to catch France.France doesn't even make the best bicycles anymore.

It doesn't rust, runns and handles great, gets 42 MPG.
I'm not prejudiced toward American cars as my other 2 are a Range Rover and a Unimog.
Oh, by the way, the Saturn is on its 10th oil change with AMERICAN made synthetic oil (Amsoil) ONLYin it.

Tariffs probably have a bit to do with it too. Lets face it, there are more french cars sold here than American cars in france, we export virtually nothing in terms of cars. That scares me. It should scare you too.
I also see someone trying to extol the virtues of Saturn. Well they're ok, but compared to a Merc, Beemer or VW (which in their home market are comparable in price to a saturn) they are complete garbage. The American motorist is getting screwed when it comes to the availability of quality product.

And has been bumping ever since.
I remember seeing footage of some moron attacking a small Datsun or something in the early 70's bleating on about how these imports were taking jobs. Rubbish, the only thing threatening their jobs was the crap they were building.
