The truth is that every set of people who identify with each other, even for very serious reasons, tend to need to find means for recreation with each other. Ever heard of church league softball?

BTW, baseball caught on exactly at the time when more Americans than ever before or since were very busy shedding their blood and giving their last full measure of devotion to saving the country.

And BTW, just think of what Senators do with all the time on their hands!
