I'm doing news at WJAS and just starting to put my casts together. I figure I might just do the same thing Hankie did.

One of the greatest lessons taught by Mr. Rogers was that children should be told the Truth gently. All children will face loss in their lives. Mr. Rogers has died, but he gave us so much during his life.
I suggest you use this opportunity to experience loss with the security of love and hope with your 4 year old. This will be on the news all day, and is better explained by you. Break the news and snuggle up on the couch together with a box of Kleenex handy. Mr. Rogers will forever live in our hearts.
JMHO, but I don't think that it's necessary. A 4 year old still has a hard time distinguishing b/w reality and fantasy, throwing death into the equation, makes that even more difficult.
