I live in Pittsburgh and work in the media so we crossed paths seeral times. And as I mentioned Jack Bogut, the morning man on WJAS Am 1320 was his VERY good frioend I wasn't quite young enough to watch Mister Rogers' Neighborhood when I was growing up in Pittsburgh, but I always felt proud that he was such a part of my city. My own children loved to watch him, and it's a sad feeling to know that he is gone. He was the epitome of gentleness, kindness, and patience.
I remember Jack Bogut from his "Bogie in the Morning" days on KDKA. Lots of fond memories coming back today.

Meow meow meow meow.
Thanks for teaching our nation to care.
And, thanks for separating your activity from the liberal socialists in pediatrics like Dr. Benjamin Spock!
God bless you Mr. Rogers.
Care givers to children across the world owe you a big one. Sadly, most of the socialist/liberals running children's healthcare won't admit that you are a stronger leader for children's issues than the American Academy of Pediatrics.

How very sad. He represents everything this culture has lost over the last 25 years or so.
God be with you, Mr. Rogers.

Remembering Fred Rogers
All of us at Family Communications would like to thank you for your expressions of care at this sad time.
Fred Rogers was an amazingly talented and loving person, and we will all miss him more than we can say. We at Family Communications will continue his work of helping children, their families, and those who support them.
Naturally, many people - especially children will join us in mourning the loss of Fred Rogers. When children learn that someone they know from television has died, they are sometimes surprised and confused when they see that person on the screen. If you know children who are puzzled to see Mister Rogers on his television program, you can tell them that he made his programs on videotape so that his "television visits" with them can be shown again and again. For more help with talking with children about Fred Rogers' death, you may want to visit the "Tips for Parents" section of this website.
Anyone who wishes to share messages, pictures or drawings with the cast and staff of Mister Rogers Neighborhood or with the Rogers family may send them to our office at:
Family Communications, Inc.
4802 Fifth Avenue
Pittsburgh, PA 15213
Messages may also be sent through the "Contact Us" feature of our web site, www.fci.org.
As always, we will be glad to hear from our neighbors.

It's painful to imagine those shows broken up by commercials for action figures and sugary cereal. One form of Big Government I didn't mind, especially considering the swill that passes for children's TV on every other channel. Conservatives can point out that this kind, Godly man, will probably be the last minister ever to receive air-time at tax-payer expense. That's what is really painful, is that much of children's TV these days is aimed at selling them something and not actually teaching them anything, let alone teaching them morals and the like. It's all one big commercial these days. Mr. Rogers will be missed.
To: prisoner6
RIP Mr Rogers. You did more good than most.

Favorite moments: "Trolley, Trolley" as he moves back and forth into that tunnel. What kid didn't want a trolley and railroad track around his room?
To: prisoner6; All
He also appeared on an episode of "Arthur".
I too will miss him. :-(

O, my. The world is a sadder place this morning.
I am sure that St. Peter let Fred Rogers right in, and God folded him into His arms.
And I am sure that Fred Rogers' Heaven is ful of children who adore him.

Mr. Rogers has passed away, may he RIP, but Mr. Roger's Neighborhood is here to stay. With as many shows as were produced it should continue through several generations of children.
How fortunate America was to have him and to have his shows.

With all due respect, take your spelchecker, sprinkle it liberally with broken glass, and stick it where the sun don't shine!
Sheeesh, some folks just can't stand a decent tribute thread and have to try and trash it.
