I'm sorry, I didn't know. I am also very fortunate to have in-laws who love me like I'm their own daughter, granddaughter and sister. It's the way it's supposed to be. Unfortunately, many aren't as blessed. I'm glad you are.

You take care, clamper.

What a sweet story. Contrast Fred Rogers with some of the 'tude shows on TV now--ugh.
My computer was down all day yesterday and I was dying to get over on freep and grieve with others.
Like someone else said, this is like a little piece of some of our childhood is gone. That's the one thing about cartoons I guess--they never age because they are pretend--it's almost consoling when you lose a real human treasure from your childhood. Think I'll go watch some Scooby Doo(the old shows) and pretend like Mr. Rogers is still only in his late 40's and making new shows for me to watch every week.
RIP Fred...may you be entertaining and comforting the Adam Walshes and the Danielle Van Dams in heaven while they wait for their parents to return home to the Father someday.

Ditto here friend. Sadly it's a battle here because my hubby will flip just about anything on for the kids to watch(kid wise anyway). Cat and Dog, Arnold, Proud Family and others are just a few not allowed in this house. I don't care for much of anything on Nick, just because of the commercials they run all through their programming.
Mr. Rogers passing has me thinking now if it was good enough for me, it's good enough for the kids. I might get the video tapes out and start taping Mr. Rogers episodes and see if I can download some of the old Capt. Kangaroo's too. Rather the kids watch this in a pinch.

who from what I recall did not politicize his television show despite what his political leanings were. He's part of an old generation in that regard.
