A cluster of sloping, angular buildings with a 1,776-foot spire that would be the tallest in the world was chosen Wednesday as the blueprint to redevelop the World Trade Center site, The Associated Press has learned.
Architect Daniel Libeskind's design beat a plan by an international design team known as THINK, which envisioned two 1,665-foot latticework towers straddling the footprints of the original towers, said a source familiar with the selection. An official announcement is expected Thursday.

There is really no money for replacing the towers; maybe someday.
But the steel remaining from the wrecked towers, I would cut into sections, and then I'd transport the lot to the Middle East. Load 'em into B-52's and drop 'em all on the Saudi's who have supported bin Laden, on the pin-headed Syrians and Iranians who support fascist Islamicism.
We'll "code name" the entire operation, The Night of the Long Knives.
BORING.
And the THINK design sucked with it's empty wirecage and that bridge between the towers that looked too much like a plane :P
