The man is a serious nutcase. And his son is worse.
Saddam, if you're reading this - this Briton thinks you're a lying, murderous sack of camel excrement who should swing from a lamppost like Mussolini. Get out or die, you fool.
Regards, Ivan

Gunga-dan is an odd duck. Lefty, but- IIRC jumped (i.e. out of an aircraft) with the 173rd. in Viet Nam. No AAA, but, if true, he gets some credit for big clangers.
Also, for what it's worth, he didn't shade the truth- he said: "I told him American public opinion was behind Bush.
I can imagine other lefties bringing up protests, letters to the editors, et.al. Not a fan of Rather, but he seems to have done okay here.

Saddam: Tell me Oh Green Dan, what do you think of me?
Dan: Gad, Saddam, it is hard to think with Janeane Garofalo's hand up my a$$.

I understand that Saddam is quite fond of American 'shoot 'em up' movies. To be honest, who doesn't like a good cowboy western? If we could ask John Wayne what he thinks of the murderous thug I wonder what he'd say? What would John Wayne think of all the freaking anti-war celebs?
Hitler also liked Hollywood and he promised his little Eva that when the war was over, he'd take her there. Hollywood, at the time, lead efforts to fight Hitler. Some of them even enlisted in the military.
If only today's celebs were one-tenth as wise.

A&E's Biography program has life of Hussein on NOW. 'Said while he was in prison, he read about his role models, Stalin, Hitler, and the Mafia. When his wife and baby son visited him, he smuggled out directions to his followers via the baby's diaper.
When he first came to power, he had fellow Iraqi read out the names of "traitors" in the assembly of high ranking officials, and security police led them away amidst quaking others who feared their names would be called out next. News of what had happened then was spread throughout the land soas to engender fear.
The most chilling thing for me was seeing Hussein laughing while all this was going on.
