Man oh man. I can't believe the stretch that some of you guys will make to create yet another seal the borders/down with Mexico thread. Here's an example:
Thread title: Mad Cow Disease Surfaces Again.
Post # 14: Man, I can't believe that disease is here again.
Post # 15: You're right. What I can't believe is that Bush refuses to do anything about our porous borders. Traitor!
Illegal immigration IS a huge problem. But, for a change - try to post something with substance, or offer some REALISTIC ideas. But, I implore you - stop wasting bandwidth on these emotional, knee-jerk responses.

Here's a realistic proposal. If you hire an illegal immigrant, you go to jail. That hiring is being done every day and the federal government will not enforce the law.
America seems to have the resources to send our military all over the world. We have controlled the borders of South Korea for more than fifty years. We have sent troops to Panama, Grenada, Kosovo, Bosnia, Kuwait and countless other places. We are about to invade Iraq and occupy it for some time.
Why can't we control our own borders?
I think a patriotic American is justified in becoming emotionally upset about illegal trespassers into his country since his government will not enforce laws on the books.
Illegal immigration is the number one threat to our sovereignty and to the future of our country and you think our justifiably angry postings are a waste of bandwidth.
I have spent a considerable amount of my time personally traveling and investigating this threat and it is real. It is destroying our country's language and culture and the rule of law. It is undermining the concept of patriotism as millions now illegally here have no allegiance whatsoever. It is creating privileges for illegals that are not available to American citizens. We citizens simply pay for services handed to illegals which we cannot receive ourselves. It is undermining the standard of living in this country by the hiring of illegals at below-market wages.
Anger? You haven't seen it yet. Wait until these people stop posting and start acting.

We barbaric Americans who let these people die, should put small heated shacks out in the desert to prevent this.
How uncivil of us not to know where all of these poor, suffering, hard-working, law-abiding, socially superior 'undocumented aliens so we can rush to them in an attitude of fealty and help them in their quintessential quixotic quest to reach their extremely high potential in the "Land that giveth" otherwise known as the United States of America.

I don't have a problem with anger. I do have a problem with bigotry, which invariably rears it's head in these threads. Problems with illegal immigration are fine, but take the anti Hispanic crap over to the Aryan Nation's website, where it belongs. Almost all of our ancestors came here for the first time years ago, and I don't have a problem with anyone who wants to do so - legally.
There have been numerous threads relating to why soldiers are not the right "tool for the job", so to speak. I agree that something needs to be done, vis-a-vis the enforcement of existing laws. But 26000 miles of fence, landmines, militarizing the borders, ets, are NOT realistic solutions, and yet it seems to be all I hear.
I work very closely with the Hispanic community here in my City. Our company is probably 80-90 percent Hispanic. They work hard, are family oriented and religious, and have zero problem with the whole process of becoming a citizen. If I had non-lazy Americans to choose from, I certainly would. And don't even go there with the whole wage argument; I pay my guys above standard wages because they earn it. We work very hard to ensure that everyone is legal, and if we find one who isn't, we notify INS immediately, without saying anything to the person in question.
And if they start acting as irrationally as they post, they'll be removed from society - which is as it should be. Again, I don't have a problem with anger - but try and turn it toward something productive.
Thanks for your input.....

I work very closely with the Hispanic community in my City. Presumably, that's Indianapolis, judging from your FReeper profile. No problem, I lived and worked downstate from there, and we had a large Hispanic population as well, particularly during the melon and corn detasseling seasons, but also construction workers from Chicago, riding out the winter downstate- Chicago now has the third largest Spanish language speaking population in the world, after Mexico City and Buenos Aires.
But they're not telling you that Indianapolis is part of Mexico and it's time for the Gringos to get out, or be killed, as they are in New Mexico, Texas, Arizona and California. Some places, they're more vocal about saying such things, other places less. But there are certainly those saying them.
Nor, presumably, are Mexican Army troops crossing the border to remove American citizens from their homes in Indianapolis to take them to Mexico for *interrogation* as has happened in at least one known instance. That is understandably of more concern to those residing along the border or with families still there, and if it takes troops or minefields to prevent it, swell.

Problems with illegal immigration are fine, but take the anti Hispanic crap over to the Aryan Nation's website. Are the Irish invading your state from Mexico???
Troops with "shoot to kill" orders on our southern border like Mexico has on their southern border would come close to solving this problem in no time.
I am not anti-Mexican, I am anti-illegal alien.
Stay safe; stay armed.

It appears someone else certainly did. Perhaps The Coopster is unconcerned whether or not they kill 3000 more Americans and welcome visitors, but the rest of us are not.
But last I heard, the Aryan Nations folks were supporting the jihadist terrorists, with whom they share a common hatred of Jews. Accordingly, it appears that allowing free passage for felons and terrorists through our borders supports their activities, and it's those like The Coopster, whose efforts in favor of maintaining the present border non-security status quo who are really aiding and abetting terrorists and the Aryan Nations crowd.

Hey, archy - I am talking about Mexicans here. Stay on topic. Nice job trying to lump me in with the terrorists, or at least accusing me of not caring. Them's Democrat tactics there. They'd be proud.
And as to the rest of your post/posts. Find a workable solution. Other than that, you're just the type of whacko/armchair quarterback that I referred to originally.

No, I mean hard. That's what I said. I also said (If you'd cut and pasted the whole sentence we wouldn't have to have this chat) that we pay these guys at or above industry standards, or even "white guy" standards, if that's where you're going. We hire mostly Hispanics out of convenience, and due to the fact that they work circles around almost any local guys around, on average. This city has MAYBE 4 percent unemployment, so it's slim pickin's where my local labor pool is concerned.

Nice job trying to lump me in with the terrorists. You've done that yourself. But don't forget the narcotrafficantes and murderers, as well.
Other than that, you're just the type of whacko/armchair quarterback that I referred to originally.
After you've pulled a tour of duty with me as a 76Y40 AN/PPS-5 radar operator tracking personnel movements across Coronodo National Monument near Ft. Huachucha, I'll consider your opinion as to whether I'm an *armchair* QB. Until then, I'll just figure you're just another poco dedo for the narcos and mojados.
