They are at least smart in reading their crowd. The joke-writers have decided that Pro-Bush, Pro-America jokes win the audience. You can hear the roar when Saddam is trashed and Bush vaunted.

Whether this is good politics or good showmanship I cannot tell. But the tone flipped from ambivalent to conclusive about three weeks ago, and the chosen side cannot be mistaken.

Maybe it was just me expecting a negative response from the left coast audience, but it almost seemed leming-like. You could hear a few start the clapping and them the majority chimed in after they saw it was ok to back the President and they wouldn't be the only ones.

I expect nothing from the Hollywood crowd, so I am pleased if someone does a routine that reflects my opinions for once.

I enjoy using Barbra Streisand's "truth alerts" (sic) in my writing class. No one takes her seriously.
