WHEW! Brian Killmeade and Janeane Garofalo Go At It on "Fox and Friends"!
Fox News Channel ^ | February 25, 2003 | Self

WOW! Janeane Garofalo, one of the more vocal (and, IMO, more informed) of the Hollywood talking heads opposed to the war, went mano a mano with Fox News' Brian Killmeade this morning. Both got their shots in, but I was most impressed with Brian's relentless hounding of Janeane to back up her claims that those supporting war with Iraq are "right wing nuts."

At one point, Brian said to her what I'm sure many FReepers would like to say: "Just because you're a celebrity I'm not going to let you get away with this cr*p!"

Janeane for once--and briefly--was speechless. It appeared that this was the first time the notion that others might NOT be impressed with her celebrity status on this issue had crossed her mind. Too many sycophants around her, I guess.

Nevertheless, she did hold her own pretty well. If all of the Hollywood nutcases were as astute and well-informed as her (even if their conclusions are still WRONG), I would be more nervous about the anti-war movement.

I hated to miss it but I had to leave for work. Brian just got back from Kuwait doing live shows from the Third Division camps. I'm certain he's still pretty pumped.

She is an actress, and she has all of her lines well-rehearsed.

Everything is canned.

I saw Tony Snow take her on on Sunday.

She was simply a charismatic hitlery rockhead klinton: unfalppably "on message".

In my estimation, it is her chutzpah and charisma that make her scary, not her understanding of the issues.

I saw it. Amazing. I liked when Brian responded to Janeane berating Fox news channel with, "Yes, and the fact that America has made us number one in ratings means something about America's attitiude doesn't it. Something to that effect.

You mean, those that support the war are not right-wingers?

Indeed. I wish they'd lose the fluff (the daily interviews with the wannabes on "Star Search" or whatever they're calling it these days is REALLY getting on my nerves) but aside from that I love "Fox and Friends."

Yeah, I saw this. Just another "debate" that is really a shouting match where whoever behaves the most ill-mannered and yells loudest "wins", while the so-called "moderator" sits there and does nothing to ensure that the discussion stays on some kind of track and the two participants respond to each other instead of changing the subject each time they hear something they don't want to respond to. I give the kudos to Jeanne Garofalo not by force of argument, but purely on the basis that she's better mannered.

Brian is my absolute favorite from Fox and Friends because he never lets someone get away with spewing lies.

He was fantastic!

When he isn't there on Fox and Friends, I usually don't watch. Replacements from the Sat/Sun are not the best IMO.

Was also impressed with Brian's reports from the Gulf.
