[history]
Five-year-old flag carrier Rebekah Matta, 5, gets a shoulder-height view of Saturday morning's dump-the-governor rally at the state Capitol, thanks to her father, Mark Matta of Sacramento.
Familiar faces from Bill Simon's campaign pop up, along with a handful of the governor's backers.

I don't mean to be negative, but I would have thought you would get 400 to show up at a Dump Davis rally in Arkansas. Where was everybody?

I'm not dismissing the disappointing turnout, but in all honesty, I had a feeling the rally would be sparsely attended - this is a big state with terrible traffic, and, although this sounds like a typical California cop-out, it was probably a SERIOUS inconvenience to near impossibility logistically to get there - as it is just to try to get to work in the morning in this state. Even this article mentions the terrible traffic, and it's true. IMHO the real test will be the petitions and support of the actual recall, and that is receiving huge support and getting lots of volunteers, because people can help locally in their own back yards. A recall has never succeeded historically, but it's going to be fun to get it on the ballot against Grayout.

Corin Choppin, left, and other members of the Young Democrats of Sacramento provide a pro-Davis counterpoint to Saturday's Capitol rally, at which conservative Republican spokesmen and viewpoints were strongly represented.
A flag-toting Mark Strombers of Sacramento joins supporters of a recall campaign aimed at Gov. Gray Davis at Saturday's rally at the state Capitol. Though 1,500 Republican officials and activists were in Sacramento for the state party convention, most stayed away from the rally.

This is the same media that said hundreds of thousands showed up for anti-war rallies when no where near that many did. No bi deal.

No bi deal.
Right. If it was a bi deal, it would have been in San Francisco.

1 activist/FReeper is worth 1,000 status quo'ers
Joseph Faria from WorldNet Daily was on the Barbara Simpson show yesterday on KSFO and is encouraging activists to be informed and active. They may be small in numbers but they can make a big difference. Look back to Prop 13 and Gann.
