A Word From The Wise (Regarding The Foolish)...

February 20, 2003: Shocked and saddened by the outpouring of stupidity and mindlessness expressed in the name of "peace" on the streets of various Western democracies of late? Then perhaps a few celebrated quotations from the wise will provide some solace, as well as buttress your beliefs in taking concerted action against the forces of tyranny:

War is an ugly thing, but not the ugliest of things. The decayed and degraded state of moral and patriotic feeling which thinks that nothing is worth war is much worse. The person who has nothing for which he is willing to fight, nothing which is more important than his own personal safety, is a miserable creature and has no chance of being free unless made and kept so by the exertions of better men than himself. -- John Stuart Mill

An appeaser is one who feeds a crocodile, hoping it will eat him last. -- Winston Churchill

The only thing necessary for the triumph of evil is for good men to do nothing. -- Edmund Burke

When cowardice is made respectable, its followers are without number both from among the weak and the strong; it easily becomes a fashion. -- Eric Hoffer

The quickest way of ending a war is to lose it. -- George Orwell...................

Regarding the quotation from Burke, there are lot of bad as well as good people doing nothing about evil these days. Fortunately, we have the dynamic duo of Dubyah and Rummie to do the job for them.

These pansy assed college kids who never faced anything harder in life than walking to school, (once in a while) or having to find an open gas station that takes Mommy's credit card for their shinny new cars handed to them as a present.

Actors live in a world of make believe where a clown like Martin Sheen actually thinks he has what it takes to be President of the world's only super power, where life and death decisions mean people live and die, not just get up, wipe off the ketchup and have another "take"

Actors who can't even manage their own families lives criticize a man like President Bush, and Tony Blair, who are responsible for the eating and sleeping of people all around the world by what they decide to do or not do.

When men like these hear about the rape and tourture and maiming and death, and cry and hold wives and sons and daughters of loved ones lost in a building just because they went to work on time, and they know if they don't do something about it more death and horror will rain down upon others whose only crime was to go to school or work that day

And on top of that they are forced to play some game trying to get the killers and their supporters to agree to some half assed resolution rather than go in and blow the son's of bitches into the fine mist they deserve...

That's when I thank God I'm an American who understands that there are leaders and sheep in the world, and we can thank our lucky stars the sheep we had for 8 years has been replaced by a man who knows who he is and what it means to head the most powerful nation on earth
