The prime-time smearing of Sami Al-Arian,

Picking up where Emerson had left off with his inflammatory 1994 documentary "Jihad in America," which argued angry Muslims at home pose a larger danger to this country than Muslim terrorists abroad, Fechter breathlessly reported that Al-Arian had raised money for Islamic groups that had killed hundreds of people around the world. In addition, Fechter wrote that World Islamic Studies Enterprises, or WISE, the USF think tank Al-Arian helped create, had associated with, and even invited to the campus, known terrorists.

What a difference a year makes! Not that I ever had any doubt about his involvement - but I think even Salon would find it hard to defend now.

This is SWEET...
Ashcroft is supposed to have a press conference on Al-Arian's indictment around 1 o'clock today
Steve Emerson was on Tampa radio today and said the indictment was over 20 pages long- quite substantial. It covers a background of terrorism going back 15 years- even before the founding of WISE
