I did not realize that James Earl Jones had a speaking impediment as a youngster! That brings to mind the notion that God allows us to have difficulties to overcome, and in doing so, we become the more blessed ... no one could deny that we as well as Mister Jones are the more blessed for his work to overcome his difficulties. Thank God for MEN like James Earl Jones, may his mellifluous voice continue to ring out and his wisdom seep into our hearts.

I bet CNN won't be playing his tag line anymore..."This is CNN"
On the matter of Mr. Jones being a classy guy, I was talking to a young kid a few years ago at the big ComicCon convention in San Diego and he talked highly of his experience seeking an autograph. THe kid had found an address for James Earl Jones and went there to ask for an autograph. Evidently he got the address right and James and his wife invited him in and gave him lunch and talked for hours and signed everything the kid had and showed him his own impressive collection of movie memoribilia. Needless to say, this is the exception rather than the norm.

I wonder if this fine actor could take some time from his busy schedule and help the military.
He would just need to say into a tape recorder in Arabic the instructions for surrendering to the U.S. military. We could then transcribe it and broadcast it to Iraqi soldiers in the trenches by any means available.
Iraqi soldiers would be sitting there thinking "the voice of God is telling me to surrender."
I mean, if God suddenly spoke to us in a human tongue, I bet the voice would sound a lot like James Earl Jones.

It sure is. They all can't be total idiots!

He's done a lot of good work, but in my opinion his best was "The UFO Incident". I always thought the Hill's story was hokum, but watch Jones in this movie. Must have been a lot of pressure doing a lot of master shots (not a lot of reaction shots, cuts over the shoulder).
