Accident victim sues Cowboys' Goodrich

02/19/2003

From Staff Reports

A man has filed a lawsuit against Dallas Cowboys player Dwayne Goodrich in connection with a Jan. 14 accident in which he was injured and two were killed.

Shuki Josef, 38, is suing Mr. Goodrich for $36.8 million, according to the lawsuit filed in Dallas County.

Police said Mr. Goodrich - driving a BMW - struck and killed Demont Matthews, 23, and Joseph Wood, 21, and injured Mr. Josef as the three men worked to free a motorist trapped in a burning car on Interstate 35E. Mr. Goodrich is charged with two counts of manslaughter and three counts of failure to stop and render aid.

According to court documents, Mr. Josef suffered injuries to his chest, head, neck, lower back, legs and left ankle. He will require rehabilitation and psychological counseling, the lawsuit said.

Mr. Goodrich could not be reached for comment Tuesday.

It was unclear whether Mr. Goodrich had hired an attorney to represent him in the lawsuit.

He'll never see the money. The only football team Goodrich will be playing on for the next ten years will be at the Walls Unit. They don't have All-Pro there. They have All-Con.

But he'd be a fool not to somehow make Jerry Jones a defendant in the suit...

This should not be called an "accident".

Hopping in your car roaring drunk and speeding between two stopped cars at 110 mph is not an accident. It is deliberate behaviour.

I wonder how he came up with the "point eight" part? Maybe his *real* expenses?
