USA Today!

The left is loosing it's collective mind! The author of this article has either lost his view on reality, or has recieved a fax from the DNC.

We are in the throws of war! We have much more on our plate than the opinion of some smug socialist, a$$hole sitting in a news room writing an article about something he/she has little, or no expertise on. This is the perfect reason to ignore him/her. The time has come for the People to shout, not just speak, but SHOUT! These are the times that test men's souls. Stand and deliver, or be the cowards that fall by the wayside. The decisions are ours.

"As for me, give me liberty, or give me death"! A quote from the right honorable Patrick Henry, of Virginia. In this time of strife, when the only way to peace is war, those words mean something. We are fighting for the liberty of the middle-east, their freedom. Freedom to rule their own lives, freedom to be what they want, freedom to be better than slaves to a dictator, or a potentate, and that scares the hell out of both. It's time to take the bull by the horns and get this thing overwith.

War will prove our resolve, and our commitment. It will prove, once and for all, that this country, and the People mean business.

A huge majority of the People want to get it on, and get it overwith. Let's do it! It's the only way to win this war.

If the war goes badly we will be seeing suicide bombings in shopping malls and office buildings.

Some wag once said that in a parliamentary system, the duty of the opposition was to oppose. I have never been comfortable with that formulation, and that has been reinforced by my watching of PM's question time on Sunday on CSPAN. The US is moving towards the same system at present. I don't like that either, but perhaps it is inevitable, with regionalism in politics these days largely dead, and voters being moved by national currents.

you said ---Americans understand this economy is a direct result of the Clinton years. This economy started to deteriorate in 1999.

Actually I think it started around July 0f '98. Bounced back ( manipulated) until after the elections then really deteriorated. Just my thoughts.

It's time for Democrats who oppose George W. Bush's push for war with Iraq to shut up. It's impossible for democrats to shut up!

Congressional Democrats, in particular, should muzzle their criticism of the president. Instead of publicly questioning his reasons for wanting to invade Iraq, they should voice strong support for the men and women Bush will send into battle ---- and give the president no reason to blame them for the bad things that almost certainly will result from his handling of this situation. Too late bub, democrats have treated the military like second class citizens, while McDermmot and Bonoir are kissing Saddam's boots .

In the coming weeks, the president is expected to order a "first strike" on Iraq. The televised images of U.S. troops pouring into that Muslim country will be a recruitment poster for Osama bin Laden's terrorist organization and the cause of widespread protests around the world. Really! OBL is going to love us if we don't attack Iraq. The terrorist already had a first strike and we are going to clean their clocks. After the US controls Iraq, we cut off the travel routes of terrorist.

No support from U.N. Who Need' um

That's exactly what Bush seems to be doing. After weeks of lobbying United Nations Security Council members, the president suffered a serious setback Friday, when just three of the body's 15 members backed his push for a resolution that would give the United States authority to wage war on Iraq. Bush is doing what is right, The UN Security Council member are spineless appreasers

The next day, anti-war demonstrations were held in 350 cities around the world, including a massive one in New York City. Yes, the Communist organizers were busy !

This doesn't seem to have caused Bush to pull back from the precipice of war. Instead, he used the backdrop of a Florida Naval Station last week to warn the United Nations against becoming "an ineffective, irrelevant debating society" ---- a condition that presumably will befall the world body if its members don't let him have his way with Iraq. The Truth hurts doesn't it!

"I'm optimistic that free nations will show backbone and courage in the face of true threats to peace and freedom," Bush told his military audience.

Gray is right; Democrats would be wise not to take on Bush when he is acting in his role of commander in chief. The better strategy for them is to focus their criticism on the Bush administration's domestic policies ---- especially the president's mishandling of the nation's economic problems. National Security is the ecomony STUPID!

Indeed, it's the economy

Unemployment has increased nearly 50% since Bush took office. The economy was going south the last year of Clinton's administration.

The $236 billion surplus he inherited from the Clinton administration has turned into a $304 billion deficit on his watch. Inherited from the Clinton Administration Diddily-Squat!!!

There was a surplus only because Republicans put some restaint on spending.

Personal bankruptcies reached an all-time high last year. Personal spending disciplines must have been learned Democrats. This is a personal responsiblity problem.

Democrats should harp on this bad economic news. Go ahead harp, harp, harp, rag, rag, rag . . . That sure impressed voters in 2002. Maybe you could have a funeral rally for the economy.

If Bush proceeds, it's a good bet that, although Saddam Hussein's regime will be gone by the time the 2004 presidential campaign gets underway, thousands of U.S. troops still will be in Iraq. The price tag for both the war and the "nation building" that will follow this conflict will deepen the federal deficit and push the United States closer to a recession. The new Iraq government can just sale a few billion barrels of oil to rebuild the country. Oil prices will come down and stabilize and generate world-wide economic growth.

By the time voters go to the polls in the next presidential election, the question on the minds of many will be the one Ronald Reagan used so effectively against Jimmy Carter in 1980: Are you better off today than you were four years ago? Yes, we not all dead! We destroyed our enemies. Our interest rate is not 21 %, Our inflation rate is not 12% This is the fight that Democrats must wage ---- and it is the one they have the best chance of winning, if they don't get bogged down in protesting a war they lack the power to stop.

"Democrats have to avoid being cast as obstructionists when it comes to war with Iraq," Gray said. "They had their say last year, when the war resolution was before Congress ---- and they lost that vote. If it happens, this will be Bush's war." To the victor go the spoils.

He's right. The body bags and the price tag will all be the president's cross to bear. Let's see we still have those 10,000 body bags we didn't need in the first gulf war.

Democrats shouldn't get in the way of Bush receiving the credit ---- and the blame ---- for the war he is so eager to wage with Iraq.

Goes to show you that the Democrats ARE NOT LEADERS. If they really believed Americans would lose their lives needlessly and America would get trashed economically wouldn't real leaders stand up and say NO!? No, the liberal elitists would rather sit back and wait to see which side wins and then take that position...even at the risk of destroying America for their political gain.

" Gray, who now heads the United Negro College Fund..."

There new motto should be... " A mind is a terrible thing to waste. A "liberal mind" is an oxymoron."

The $236 billion surplus he inherited from the Clinton administration has turned into a $304 billion deficit on his watch.

Just a small adjustment, if I may. The "surplus" was created by X42 gutting the military and the intelligence agencies and cooking the books to make it appear as such. Always question these "facts" when they're presented. :o)

"You can't beat a president when it comes to foreign policy," he said, "but he can beat himself."

Clinton did just that -- into Nancy Hernreich's sink.
