Authorities Investigate Possible Shooting On I-40 Tuesday, February 18, 2003 Authorities are investigating a possible shooting along Interstate-40 near Conover. The incident happened Monday night before 9 o'clock.
Police could not confirm that a 5-year-old girl was hit by a bullet, but would only say she was hit by an object that went through a window of a vehicle she was riding in.
She was taken to Catawba Memorial Hospital and remains in stable condition.
Police have made no arrests and are expected to release more details Tuesday.

Real Hush Hush around here. They closed down half the town last night, and still have one lane closed on the interstate. Local family, nice folks. Pray for the little girl, shot? in the head...

As hard as it may seem to believe, not everyone in the country knows where Conover is.

Duh, if it's on I-40 then it's between Barstow, CA and Wilmington, NC.

Between that clue, and the source's call letters, I had narrowed it down to about a 150,000 square mile region of the country.

Prayers for the little girl. God, please heal her so she can live a happy life with her family. I believe in miracles.

I added a "North Carolina" key word.
Dog Gone - you got off easier than I did last time I suggested a poster might give geographical clues. I was informed that he didn't have the "patience to spoon-feed" me.

I would like to attribute that to the fact that I'm an old and venerated poster here, but since some punk just invited me to leave the forum on another thread, I'll have to work on a different theory.

For the NONNORTH CAROLINIANS ON THE THREAD...conover is near Hickory, N.C. (practically in my back yard)
To: ChadsDad
North Carolina. Wasn't this where Eunice Stone's friends got a car before going to Shoney's? Remember those nice fellas from the peaceful religion?

Lets get on each others back, that's a good plan.
