Why many liberals believe what they believe

Ever wonder why many liberals will quote historical fact that never happened. For example, they might tell you that the eighties were terrible times economically thanks to Reagan? As this article implies, it seems rather easy to convince impressionable people that they have experienced a false past. People have been convinced that they saw Bugs Bunny at Disneyland, even though Bugs has no affiliation with Disneyland.
Elizabeth Loftus is Professor of Psychology at the University of Washington in Seattle and a world-renowned leader in the study of human memory, perhaps most famously the study of False Childhood Memories. "What our latest studies show is that advertising, especially if it contains false information, can make you believe you had some experiences with a product you didn't really have."
Never under the power of human stupidity.

If you don't use it, you lose it. The liberals are embarassed to use logical thought. They will call you a racist, call you mean, and call you anything that would put you on the defensive for even mentioning a fact that would contradict their agenda. Such as long-term strategy of thought sluggishness makes their whole intellectual foundation atrophy. When this happens, any evil genius can plant the seed of facism/communism into the minds of the mob. This worries me.

Here's one I find strange. Why do the same people who don't trust me or you with a handgun feel we can trust Saddam with nukes?

Some folks at work are so ignorant politically and I think it is because of their up bringing??? Or plain stupidity from watching CHH talking heads and the leftists under Clinton and believing it.
Stupid is what seupid does.

I, like most mathematicians, have this metric for truth:
Who cares about right and wrong--just give me a consistent argument. In other words, a system of thought (religion or politics) that explicitly defines all its premises and inference rules AND has no contradictions has my respect. Then I can just argue for or against the premises and it really comes down to ones opinion and experience. But most of the crap that comes out of my liberal acquaintances mouths has so many logical contradictions (hypocrisy), it just isnt worth my time.
Sounds like your point falls in this category.
