Carter said an opinion poll which rated the US as the country posing greatest danger to world peace was a "very embarrassing thing".
It was "sobering" to realise the degree of doubt that has been raised about his country's motives for war in the absence of convincing proof of a genuine Iraqi threat

While that may be how you feel and I agree his comments are ill-timed and bordering on traitorous, the press would have a field day with that story. Can you imagine how the story would run in the world press? "Bush has Carter arrested!" Carter would become the victim/martyr of an oppressive American military regime, etc. etc. Oh yeah! Not good.
No....I think we have to prove him wrong once again by ignoring his RamseyClark style yellow patriotism. When the outcome on Iraq has been secured, the world made a safer place, the WMDs found and destroyed and the terrorists dealt another setback, then the word and fears of this weak man will seem foolish once again.
It's his destiny to be a weak little man.
