Modesto police continue to pursue leads in the Laci Peterson case, and a spokesman said Monday that investigators have made some headway.

Also Monday, Peterson's mother-in-law appealed for help in finding the missing Modesto woman, who was due to give birth to a baby boy last week.

This is telling:

"Laci's husband, Scott, has not been named as a suspect, but police confirm the majority of the evidence gathered has focused on Scott Peterson.

Investigators have matched Scott's DNA to blood swabs taken from his truck, but they would not discuss any potential evidence."

This is 3 stories combined with ongoing issues and statements.

No mention is made of SP refusing to take a lie detector test, or demanding a search warrant before detectives entered his house to collect evidence.

The Modesto Police impounded his car and boat, why don't they get a search warrant for the house? Of course by now, the house has been wiped clean.

The family is checking with hospitals and medical clinics nationwide and having friends take fliers to a handful of cities in Mexico.

So Laci may have been spirited away to Mexico, and then baby Conner will be sold to rich folks in the U.S.? How often has that happened in the history of the world?

How many cases of women being abducted for their unborn children are there in the United States?

There have been several...the last one I found was in Fresno in 1998...the connection was the hospital.

Another one the connection was a car that was for sale.

Pretty gruesome stories.

"We believe she is still pregnant," she said. "If everybody were looking, they'd find her because she's pregnant. But she's not going to be pregnant for much longer."

If she was abducted for the child, why would the abductors wait for a natural delivery? The Peterson clan is really spinning a yarn here.
